About Chitakatira Church
Chitakatira united Methodist church is in Mutare district about 25 kilometres South East of the Eastern border town of Zimbabwe in the village of Nehwangura under chief Zimunya . The church is in the same yard with Chitakatira Primary school along tarred Burma Valley Road off Vumba Road ,a High School is just 100metres from the church . There is a fast growing Groth point
a kilometre before the church , a Health centre as well as a Business centre is within a walkable distance from the church. By the time of this publication Chitakatira is under the clergymanship of Reverend J Nemakanga and an increasing number of new members since 2013 to this date. About 200 parishioners grace the church every Sunday which is sign that more disciples of Christ are being made in the circuit. The gospel is reaching every corner of the area . Currently Chitakatira is the mother church for 4 local churches which are Chishakwe , Mazonwe Burma Valley, Matanuska,and Crake valley. The church comprises of MUMC (Vabvuv Men of the church) fishers of men RRW ( Ruwadzano Women of the church) UMYF youth fellowship , Junior Sunday School and a choir for Ruwadzano then a vibrant men’s choir Vessels Of Pourusia meaning midziyo yekugadzirira kudzoka kwaJesu zvakare ( utensils for the second coming of Jesus)
