May Our Lady of Mount Carmel, our loving Mother and Patroness, and our Great Prophet Elijah, father of the Carmelite Family, lovingly intercede for us.

With humble and trusting hearts, we entrust all that we are and all that we do into the loving hands of God, confident that He who has begun this good work will bring it to fulfillment.

_Introduction Theme: "Carmelite Spirituality: A Journey of the Searching Heart"_

Deep within every human heart lies a deep restlessness - a longing that no earthly possession, achievement, or pleasure can fully satisfy. We are all searching for something greater than ourselves, something that transcends what we can touch, see, or feel. But what is it that we are truly seeking? And along which path do we search?

As we gather for this first meeting, you are warmly invited to discover the beauty and richness of Carmelite spirituality - a way of life to which God continually calls searching hearts.

May the Prophet Elijah, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel pray for us always.

Holy Trinity Cathedral Third Order Carmelites Community

The visit of the Delegate of the Third Order Carmelites in Zimbabwe to Holy Trinity Cathedral, Mutare, on 28 June 2026, with the intention of erecting a Lay Carmelite Community, was a great success.

The occasion was graced by members of the Third Order Carmelites from communities from the Archdiocese of Harare, also from within the Diocese of Mutare including the Simon Stock Community (Rusape), Prophet Elijah Community (Nyazura), and St. Joseph Community (Mutare). We were also delighted to welcome more than 18 candidates who expressed their desire to become part of the Carmelite Family.

We pray that this mission will bear abundant fruit and that the rich spirituality of Carmel will continue to flourish for generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Church in the Diocese of Mutare, especially to the Cathedral Administrator, Fr. Kelvin Nyakupinda, for his generous welcome and support in making this occasion possible.

May Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Prophet Elijah continue to intercede for us always.

Carmel goes beyond weekly meetings. It includes those trips you take to be with a fellow Sister or Brother during the difficult times of life. It stretches to being with a fellow Sister or Brother as they rejoice in the Lord too. Carmel is a family, where we are there for one another during the highs and the lows. Carmel means walking with each other every step of the way.

Carmel Beyond the Borders

The Third Order Carmelite Choristers of Mutare were blessed to visit St. Matthew’s in Chimoio, Mozambique, for a faith-filled encounter aimed at strengthening the bond of our One Catholic Community between Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

It was truly a grace-filled moment, marked by the special blessing of the Holy Eucharist, fraternal fellowship, joyful interaction, and the sharing of Carmelite spirituality. In the spirit of prayer, unity, and love, hearts were united beyond borders under the mantle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the zeal of the Prophet Elijah.

May the flame of Carmel continue to burn brightly in every heart and generation.

Carmel is our Home. Forever may Carmel live.
