Wisdom Wednesday Word
On most mornings as I head out for work or on random days, I find myself doing small, random acts of kindness, helping someone carry groceries, greeting and checking on the elderly, offering transport, or stopping to assist someone stranded with a burst tyre on the roadside. Nothing planned. Just moments where an opportunity to help presents itself.
Almost every time, the question comes:
“How much should I pay you?”
And my answer is always the same:
“Nothing. I just wanted to help.”
The response that follows often leaves me reflecting, surprise, joy, and sometimes disbelief:
“Wow… there are still people in this world who help for free.”
They usually walk away smiling, not just because they were helped, but because kindness found them unexpectedly.
For me, it’s simple:
1️⃣ I help because I am a product of other people’s kindness and sacrifice. Many who helped me without strings attached, without sharing my bloodline, and without expecting anything in return.
2️⃣ I value God’s blessings far more than any amount of money that could be offered. What He gives in return is always greater and lasting.
3️⃣ Giving, helping, and being present for others is not a duty to me, it is life itself.
May we never underestimate the power of simple kindness. Sometimes, the smallest act becomes the loudest sermon.
