"The Good News"
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the world. This was the ultimate proof of His love toward humanity. According to John 3:16, God’s love was so profound that He GAVE His only begotten Son. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The mission Jesus Christ undertook was a weighty one: to SAVE the entire world. He was sent to Earth to die for our sins because no one can stand before God and claim to be born righteous. As Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Sin leads to death; Romans 6:23 confirms that when we live in sin, the ultimate result is permanent separation from God. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. However, Jesus Christ took the sins of the world upon Himself, and through His death, we were redeemed.
The only thing we are called to do is BELIEVE in the work Jesus Christ finished. HE PAID IT ALL. If you have not yet made this decision, you are being called today to believe, appreciate, and acknowledge the sacrifice Christ made through His blood.
Romans 10:9 explains that a person is saved through confession and believing with the heart.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Steps to Salvation:
1. ADMIT that you are a sinner and cannot save yourself.
2. BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for your sins and rose again from the dead.
3. CONFESS your sins before God and declare the LORDSHIP of Jesus Christ over your life.
The Prayer:
"Heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—that He died and rose again on the third day in power. I confess my sins before You and invite You into my heart. Be the Lord and Savior of my life. In Jesus’ name, AMEN."
If you have prayed this prayer earnestly, you are forgiven. You are now a child of God and a new creation. Live to enjoy the benefits of being His child, for you are now destined for Heaven.
Let's meet at church tomorrow.
Be blessed.
