"IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE CROSS"
Galatians 5:11 (KJB)
“And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.”
We live in a world that constantly says, “It’s about you—your happiness, your success, your feelings.” Even in religion, many have turned the message into self-improvement, self-glory, and self-righteousness.
But the truth of Scripture cuts through all of that:
👉 It is NOT about you.
👉 It is ALL about the Cross.
The Cross of Jesus Christ is not just a symbol—it is the center of salvation, the place of sacrifice, and the proof of the power of His blood.
Wherever the Cross is preached, the blood of Christ must be lifted up, because:
Without the blood, the Cross is just wood.
But with the blood, it becomes the power of God unto salvation.
I. PROCLAMATION – The Preaching of the Cross
The Cross must be preached boldly, plainly, and purely.
1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJB)
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 2:2 (KJB)
“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”
The message is not philosophy.
The message is not self-help.
The message is not religion.
👉 The message is Jesus Christ crucified—and His precious blood shed for sinners.
Colossians 1:14 (KJB)
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
Practical Truth:
• We don’t preach ourselves—we preach His Cross
• We don’t promote feelings—we proclaim His blood
• We don’t entertain—we evangelize
Consider this:
A man once tried to improve his life by attending seminars, reading books, and changing habits—but he remained empty. One day, he heard a simple message: “Jesus died for you, and His blood paid for your sins.” That truth broke him. He wept—not because he improved himself, but because Christ paid it all.
👉 That is the power of the Cross.
II. PROVOCATION - The Offense of the Cross
The Cross is offensive because it exposes man.
Galatians 5:11 (KJB)
“And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.”
The Cross offends because it declares:
• You are a sinner
• Your works cannot save you
• Your religion cannot cleanse you
• Only the blood of Christ can wash you
Hebrews 9:22 (KJB)
“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
1 Peter 1:18–19 (KJB)
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
Practical Truth:
• The Cross destroys pride
• The Cross exposes sin
• The Cross demands repentance and faith
👉 That is why many reject it—they are offended by truth.
Strong Warning:
There are those today who profess God but hate the Bible.
They want blessings—but reject the blood.
They want heaven—but deny the power of the Cross.
Titus 1:16 (KJB)
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”
👉 If a person rejects the Word, the Cross and the Blood, their profession is empty.
III. PERSECUTORS – The Enemies of the Cross
There are real enemies of the Cross—and they are not always outside the church.
Philippians 3:18 (KJB)
“(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:”
These enemies:
• Replace the Cross with works
• Remove the blood from the message
• Live in the flesh while denying its power
Galatians 6:14 (KJB)
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
Practical Truth:
• True believers stand firm in the Cross
• True believers live by the power of His blood
• True believers deny the flesh daily
👉 If the Cross is real in your life, sin will not be comfortable.
Romans 6:6 (KJB)
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
CONCLUSION
The message is clear:
👉 It’s not about your works
👉 It’s not about your religion
👉 It’s not about your feelings
🔥 It’s all about the Cross—and the blood of Jesus Christ
The Cross:
• Saves the sinner
• Sanctifies the believer
• Separates us from the world
Final Call:
• If you are lost—come to the Cross
• If you are saved—cling to the Cross
• If you are drifting—return to the Cross
Hebrews 12:2 (KJB)
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Stand firm.
Preach it boldly.
Live it daily.
👉 Never remove the blood from your message.
👉 Never replace the Cross with the flesh.
Because in the end—
IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU…
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE CROSS.
Be blessed
Emmanuel
