GENESIS 18:22-23
22 "And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward S***m: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?"
In this scripture reference we see Abraham in the presence of the LORD. Genesis chapter 18 speaks in detail of this mighty visitation that Abraham had, to see the LORD face to face but there is a higher dimension that is hidden in the two verses that are our reference.
Know and understand that Abraham was already standing in GOD'S presence when the LORD raised a matter of a very high magnitude, that is, the destruction of S***m and Gomorrah. In S***m there was Abraham's nephew, Lot and his family.
Abraham decided to intercede for Lot straight away. In as much as he was already in the presence of the LORD, Abraham did something very significant before he could intercede.
Verse 23 says *ABRAHAM DREW NEAR.* How and why when he was already in the presence of the LORD ? There is a need to understand that there are certain matters in which no matter how much you feel the LORD'S presence around you, you might even behold HIS glory you need to DRAW NEARER to the throne before you engage. Even if it's the LORD Himself who has brought the matter to your attention like in this case.
The magnitude of the matter that the LORD brought and the deepness and intimacy of the intercession demanded that Abraham *DREW NEARER* to the LORD. So often we have angelic visitations, we feel HIS aura but we do not *DRAW NEAR.*
On this day, can we not be challenged to DRAW NEAR to the LORD with our matters of higher magnitudes.
