Prioritizing Christian Education at home.
The school at home
(Deuteronomy 6:1-9)
Both parents and children were enrolled at the same time.
Both do theory and practical together
Both parents and children were addressed on same issues.
Parents were told to teach them deligently to their children.
Regular basis
Teaching was done regularly
i) When they were sitting at thier homes.
ii) When they were walking by the way.
iii) When they go to bed and when they rise
There was no exemptions as far as time and place was concerned.
If school is to start at home then we will achieve greatly on the set Christian goals.
Among other teachings/lessons taught at home, God's teachings were to be the first priority.
Nowadays as Children walk up they are tasked/assigned to clean up or to do this and that as part of their responsibility, if they came back from school they are asked to wash thier uniforms, do homework before doing anything. But little is said about prayer or reciting God's word as was in the Old Testament. Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O, Israel: The Lord our God, The Lord is one."
In this regard Training will help to:
*Maintain a system (i.e a Godly)
*Maintain certain practices.
*One become skillful in certain areas in life, in this regard they will be skillful in prayer and fasting, singing, preaching etc.
Let the church encourage it's members to go back to the old practices of handling God's word in a Godly way. In the book of Deuteronomy 6. God put first priority on learning at home, along the way, as they sleep and as they rise.
Let all parents teach thier children to;
*Pray
*Ready the word of God
*Let parents teach thier own children
*Let the church teach thier believers so that they will teach also thier children at home.
is a home based religion practice, to be expressed and practised everywhere.
Let the church and the family prioritize on learning God's word and God's ways.
Proverbs 22:6 Advocates on training a child the way he should go.
you want your child to remain a Christian for the rest of his/her life.
*Teach and train them during their early days before they grow up.
*Regular practices must be exercised e.g reading the Bible together, praying together, giving together, singing together, teach them faithfulness at the earliest age.
*Prioritize together; do not ask them to do what you are not doing.
*Lead by example in everything if you cheat they see it and cheat also.
*Be a teacher as a parent/a good teacher indeed to your own children.
*Let them participate at home and at church.
*Pray for them every time.
✓Teach them that christianity is a way of life and that the ultimate goal is to live for Him until we meet Him in heaven.
