Purity Conference
Day 2
[8/21, 20:23] Dr Mike: During the day, I was very fortunate as I was teaching my primary siblings. I met this powerful statement in science book:
A material is said to be pure when it is made up of one substance!
I smiled because this was exactly what I was looking for.
[8/21, 20:24] Dr Mike: Seeing God in Purity!
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
[8/21, 20:27] Dr Mike: There are three confusing words in the body of Christ which many Christians fail to separate!
1. Holiness
2. Righteousness
3. Purity.
These words sound similar but they are totally different.
May the Lord give us illumination tonight
[8/21, 20:31] Dr Mike: One of the painful scripture in the bible is when Jesus said some of you will come to me and say:
Luke 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
We were always in your presence Lord! But Jesus will say;
Luke 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Aaaaaaa! What now? What then has qualified me to be a worker of iniquity when I was casting out devils in the Name of Jesus?
[8/21, 20:36] Dr Mike: Let's look at this case study:
The is a certain man called Amaziah. He did everything that he thought was right. Unfortunately, God disqualified him because of a simple reason.
2 Chronicles 25:1-2 Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.
That's why Jesus said;
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
The central essence here is not what people see. It is all about the purity of the heart!
[8/21, 20:41] Dr Mike: That's why you can discover that we have difference in the body of Christ but using the same bible.
If a politician reads the bible, he or she sees politics. If a thief reads the bible he or she looks for verses to bribe people. Etc
But only a person with a pure heart will see God.
So it's not all about what have been read, it's all about the heart of the reader.
Only a pure heart will see God
[8/21, 20:47] Dr Mike: Going back to my words.
When you are Holy; you separated yourself for God.
When you are righteous;
You have a right standing with God.
Righteousness can be positional that is being born again or practical that is your practical right association in the society.
But purity now, is the one which will determine the two. You may decide to be Holy and righteous for wrong motive.
That's why David said:
Psalms 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
He didn't want to work invain
[8/21, 20:53] Dr Mike: David knew that his heart may deceive him.
The greatest advice that I thought was best for me was :Follow your heart!
I tried to follow it but I discovered heartbreak after heartbreak until I saw the advise of God through Jeremiah
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I apologized to myself.
You may think you're doing the right thing but you're doing it for fame.
Your heart may deceive you to the extent of failing to differentiate between testimony and pride.
May the Lord help us
[8/21, 20:57] Dr Mike: David knew what to pray for when he said;
Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
This should be your prayer tonight. You need a pure heart. You can't be who you want to be when you don't possess that heart.
Why? Because;
Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Everything come out of heart
[8/21, 21:03] Dr Mike: This is a call for Purity people of God.
Because we can only see God out of pure heart. If the heart is impure, it is difficult to see God in our generation.
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Everything is done out of pure heart for it to be accepted.
[8/21, 21:07] Dr Mike: This is my challenge to you tonight. The Bible says:
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Do you want to see God? Examine your heart. Allow God to examine you!
Thank you
