🎉🙏 Celebrating the 6th World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly 👵👴❤️

St Joseph Parish joyfully celebrated the 6th World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly, honouring the invaluable role our senior parishioners play in our faith community. ✨

Our Parish Priest, Fr Alexio Makokove, graced the occasion and reminded us that our elderly are the living repositories of wisdom and experience. 📖💡 He encouraged the younger generation to continually learn from them, cherish their guidance, and preserve the rich heritage of our faith. 🤝💕

Brother Sydney was also present and shared a few words of encouragement, expressing his appreciation for our grandparents and the elderly and acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the life of the Church. 🙏❤️

The celebration was filled with laughter and cherished memories as our elderly reminisced about the priests who had served the parish over the years. 😊 They also delighted everyone by reciting parts of the Holy Mass responses in Latin, taking us back to the treasured traditions of the Church. ⛪🎶

The day concluded with fellowship over delicious refreshments 🍽️🥤, music 🎵, games 🎲, and joyful conversations, making it a truly memorable celebration of faith, gratitude, and community. ❤️

St Joseph Catholic Church, Hatfield Parish warmly invites all registered St Joseph parishioners aged 70 years and above to celebrate the 6th World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on Sunday, 26 July 2026.

Join us for a Special Breakfast in the Church Hall after the 9:00am Mass (approximately 10:30am) as we honour and celebrate our elderly with love, gratitude, and fellowship.

Dear Parishioners,

This Sunday is the final day (Tomorrow), to bring your donations for our Winter Warmer Campaign in support of the children at Shungu DzeVana Children's Village and St Marcellin Children's Village.

We are still collecting:
🥛 Milk (fresh or powdered)
☕ Tea bags
☕ Coffee
🍫 Hot chocolate
🍚 Sugar

If you have not yet had the opportunity to donate, there is still time to help keep our children warm, comforted, and nourished this winter.
