PHILADELPHIA CHURCH IN ZIMBABWE
An Open Door Church ⛪️

The above motto reflects the spiritual identity and mission of our church, as inspired by Revelation 3:8, where the Lord says, “Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.”

Meaning of An Open Door Church:
- A Church of Divine Opportunity. 🙏🏻 We believe God opens doors of grace, salvation, and destiny that no human power can close. “Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.” Rev 3:8

- A Church Open to All People. 🙏🏻 Everyone is welcome, regardless of background, tribe, race, or social status. “There is neither Jew nor Greek… for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal 3:28

- A Church of Salvation and Restoration. 🙏🏻 The door of salvation is open to sinners, the brokenhearted, and those seeking a new beginning. “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.” John 10:9

- A Church of Ministry and Service. 🙏🏻 Members are encouraged to discover and use their spiritual gifts in the service of God and the community. “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another.” 1 Peter 4:10

- A Church of Evangelism and Missions. 🙏🏻 We remain committed to spreading the Gospel locally and internationally, reaching communities with the message of Christ. This is God’s heartbeat and ours. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.” Matt 28:19

- A Church of Compassion and Community Development. 🙏🏻 We serve society through acts of love, charity, and empowerment. “Faith, if it hath not works, is dead.” James 2:17

- A Church of Spiritual Growth. 🙏🏻 The church provides an environment where believers grow in faith, prayer, and knowledge of the Word of God. “Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18

- A Church of Unity and Fellowship. 🙏🏻 We promote love, fellowship, and mutual support among believers. “They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship.” Acts 2:42

- A Church of Faith and Possibility. 🙏🏻 We believe that through Christ, barriers are removed and new doors of blessing and purpose are opened. “All things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23

- A Church Under Divine Authority. 🙏🏻 Our mission and work are guided by the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the teachings of Scripture through anointed leadership. *“When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13

“….and many more individual doors have opened for us. However, space does not allow me to critically analyse each one of them. This message may be long for some to read, but it is worth it.

An open door church…..

Build a Room before there is a Word!!!

She was a woman of influence, wealth, and discernment, living quietly in Shunem, when she recognized that the man who often passed by her home was truly a holy man of God, as written in 2 Kings 4:8–9. She did not wait for a miracle to prove his worth. She did not wait for a promise to confirm his calling. She simply made room. Not a chair, not a meal alone, but a permanent place. A small upper room with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, prepared in advance for the presence of God’s servant in 2 Kings 4:10.

What makes her faith remarkable is not what she asked for, but what she did without asking. She built a room before there was a word. She prepared space before there was a blessing. She invested before there was a return. Her actions declared, “Even if nothing ever comes back to me, God is welcome here.” That is the kind of faith that honors God, faith that prepares, not negotiates.

Then the question came. “What can be done for her?” Elisha asked in 2 Kings 4:11–13. She had no demands, no requests, no expectations. But God had already seen what she never spoke. The prophet revealed what heaven had noted. She would embrace a son, though she had long accepted barrenness as her reality, as promised in 2 Kings 4:16. The room she built for God became the place where her impossible future was conceived.

This story confronts the modern believer with a quiet challenge. Do we make room for God only when we need something, or do we build space for Him because He is worthy to dwell. The Shunammite woman teaches that faith is not only believing in promises, but preparing for them. It is opening space in our schedules, our homes, our plans, and our hearts, not because God has spoken yet, but because He is God.

2 Kings 4:17 records the fulfillment, but the miracle began long before the child was born. It began when a woman decided that the presence of God deserved a room, even if no promise ever came with it.

KEEP THE MANDATE.

All believers , Every nationality, every race - we are called to go and spread the gospel.

Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
[19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
