Today, the ELCZ Gender Justice Desk was honored by a special visit from ELCA partners to one of its livelihood projects in Ivhukuvanhu, involving a group of 13women. The visit created a valuable opportunity to bring together gender champions, allowing them to engage with the guests and appreciate the impact of the partnership.

The delegation was led by Rev. Dr. E. Moyo, Regional Representative of ELCA, alongside Bishop K. Sibanda, Bishop V. Mhaka, the General Secretary of ELCZ, and the Health Coordinator.

It was truly a day to remember.

Today, ELCZ Gender Justice, as part of the Gender and Faith Network Zimbabwe, joined in the commemoration of International Women’s Day, reflecting on the vital role of faith in promoting women’s participation.

In her theological reflections, Rev. Jabedu highlighted Deborah as a powerful example of women in leadership. She encouraged women to embrace their positions of influence and never underestimate themselves.

We also extend our appreciation to all the parishes that responded to the call for women to attend this celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn, share, and be inspired by women in the faith space.

Purple Sunday in the ELCZ 💜

Today several congregations across the ELCZ joined the world in observing International Women’s Day by wearing purple a symbol of justice, dignity and honour for women and girls.p

Even though purple is already the colour of the women’s uniform in our church, the spirit of the day was still beautifully embraced through worship, Bible studies and fellowship.

Together we celebrate the value, strength and God given purpose of every woman and girl.

This Sunday we wear PURPLE in solidarity and celebration of women everywhere.💜

So God created mankind in His own image…Genesis 1:27 💜

In this message, Bishop V Mhaka reminds us that every person is created in God’s image, and therefore deserves equal dignity, rights, and opportunities.

As we commemorate International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible contributions of women in business, ministry, leadership, families, and every young girl with a dream.

This Sunday, let us wear PURPLE in solidarity and appreciation of women everywhere. 💜
Together we affirm that women and girls are valued, empowered, and celebrated.
