I'm attending the SARSYC, a biennial conference that brings together students, youth leaders, and activists from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. The 2024 edition of the conference is taking place in Gaborone, Botswana.

This year's SARSYC is focusing on the theme "Building Bridges, Navigating Emerging Issues: Advancing Equitable Access to Public Health and Education." The three-day event is expected to draw participants from various parts of Africa to discuss these critical concerns.

The SARSYC is a crucial platform that enables young people in the region to convene, exchange ideas, and mobilize for positive change.

Good morning.
Growth demands change.
1 Corinthians 13: 11...."When I was a child I talked as child, I reasoned as a child. When I became a man, I put the away the childhood behind me."
Paul uses the human development process to illustrate christian growth. Apparently the greater challenge to growth is not learning new things but unlearning some of what we already know; is not in developing new habits but in letting go of old habits.This is true in spiritual matters as it is in all other matters of life. Growth demands that we change; change the way we think, speak and act. This calls for us to change some of the circles we hang around; the way we pray; the way we work; the books we read; the movies we watch; the places we go; the way we dress, etc. What habits and ways do you need to change that are hindering your growth? There is hope when we change for growth.

Good morning.
Seek to understand the scriptures.
"Do you understand what you are reading,' Philip asked. 'How can I,' he said (the Ethiopian Eu**ch), 'Unless someone explains it to me?'" - Acts 8:30,31.
It is important that we always take time to read the Word daily, but it is of more benefit if we do so with understanding. The Ethiopian Eu**ch confessed his lack of understanding to Philip and Philip then helped him to gain the necessary understanding of scripture for him to experience the life transforming power of the Word of God. God has already given us everything that pertains to life and holiness, and its in His Word. The more we gain understanding of His Word, the more we walk in victory everyday. Faith responds to the scripture that you understand, and not just know and recite! God is accountable to His Word to perform it, but when we declare and confess verses in prayer without understanding, nothing happens. Do you understand when you read the bible? If not, always find someone to explain it to you. Invest in a good Bible commentary. Invest in two or three different versions of the Bible. Faithfully attend Bible study at your church. Find a bible study group that meets during the week. Do whatever it takes for you to gain understanding of the Word of God. There is hope. Blessed Sunday!
