As a young person growing up you may ask, what is the the right time/age to date? How do I choose the right person for dating? These are questions that most young christians have but some do not have answers. Let us look into the word of God for more detail. Genesis 2 vs 18, "Then the Lord God said, IT IS NOT GOOD FOR THE MAN TO LIVE ALONE. I WILL MAKE A COMPANION TO HELP HIM" Note that the man was not LONELY, but he was ALONE, there is a huge difference. So how do you know that you are ready to date as a young person? The first point is do you know your assignment in life. Why would you want to get in a relationship and try to know someone else when you don't even know yourself? Know your gifts, dreams and life assignment first. When God made Adam a helper, Adam was not desperate to be in a relationship; he was not in NEED, infact he was busy working on his assignment. Meaning to say a person is ready to date not because of age, or environment, but when he/she is not desperate or in need to date. A person is ready to date when he/she knows the perks and pitfalls of dating. Most importantly a person is ready to date when he/she knows God's standards for relationships before marriage.
