The Doctrine of Christ by (Apostle Michael Orokpo).
1. The Strategic Role of Sound and Music (Acts 2:1-2, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Genesis 1:3)
Sound is a spiritual instrument of war, preservation, and advancement of God’s kingdom. The Holy Ghost descended with a sound (Acts 2:1-2), and Jesus will return with a shout (1 Thessalonians 4:16). Sound opens dispensations and mobilizes spiritual activity. Worship can transform atmospheres and territories.
2. Realms of Spiritual Growth (John 17:3, Romans 1:16, Ephesians 4:11-16)
Spiritual maturity progresses through three realms: Knowledge (knowing Christ), Power (demonstrating results), and Love (becoming like Christ). Love is the highest level of maturity and perfection.
3. Foundation of Doctrine (Hebrews 6:1-2)
Doctrine stabilizes believers. The six foundational doctrines are: repentance from dead works, faith toward God, doctrine of baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
4. Doctrine of Baptisms – Definition
Baptism (Greek: baptizo) means complete immersion. It involves a baptizer, subject (believer), and medium.
5. Types of Baptism
Four main types: (1) Water baptism, (2) Baptism into the body of Christ, (3) Baptism of the Holy Spirit, (4) Baptism of fire.
6. Water Baptism (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4)
Water baptism is not required for salvation but is commanded by Jesus. It symbolizes burial with Christ and separation from the world.
7. Baptism into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
This is the new birth experience. The Holy Spirit places the believer into Christ, giving new life, identity, and relationship with God.
8. Holy Spirit Baptism (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4)
A second experience after salvation that empowers believers for ministry. Evidence includes speaking in tongues and manifestation of power.
9. Speaking in Tongues (1 Corinthians 14:18, Jude 20)
A key expression of the Spirit that builds the believer spiritually, increases faith, and opens access to deeper spiritual dimensions.
10. Importance of Doctrinal Stability (James 1:6-8)
Believers must be grounded in sound doctrine to avoid confusion and grow properly in God.
