Welcome to the Month of September! 🍂✨

Nine months into the year, join us as we continue to seek the face of our Maker.

🤔 What does God have in store for us this month?

🙏🏾 What is He calling you to do in the remaining months of the year?

His promises are Yes and Amen. As we step into this new month, let’s gather tonight to worship, give Him praise, and receive fresh direction for the season ahead.

Message Title: Jesus Revealed

August Theme: Revealed

Key Scripture: Colossians 1:26–27

Our theme this month is Revealed.

No matter how long we have walked with Christ, there is always more of Him to discover. Just when we think we know Jesus, He reveals Himself to us in a fresh and deeper way.

The Gospel is not merely a message about Jesus—Jesus Himself is the Gospel. He is the Good News!

1. Jesus Cannot Simply Be Recognized—He Must Be Revealed

Many people recognized Jesus during His earthly ministry, yet few truly knew who He was.

You can recognize Jesus with your mind, but you can only truly know Him when the Holy Spirit reveals Him to your heart.

Recognition informs. Revelation transforms.

Recognition may identify Him as:

The son of Joseph
The carpenter’s son
A man from Nazareth

But revelation declares:

Jesus the Christ
The Son of the Living God
Lord, Savior, Messiah and King

2. Recognition and Revelation Are Different

Recognition

Comes through familiarity.
Is based on what the natural eye sees.
Is intellectual, external and often superficial.

Revelation

Comes through an encounter with God.
Is the work of the Holy Spirit.
Opens the eyes of our hearts to see Jesus as He truly is.

Recognition changes what you know.

Revelation changes who you become.

3. Biblical Examples of Revelation

A. The Disciples on the Sea

Matthew 14:22–33

Only moments earlier Jesus had fed the five thousand, yet when He came walking on the water they did not recognize Him.

They thought He was a ghost because recognition is limited by natural sight.

Peter only stepped out of the boat after Jesus revealed Himself by saying, “It is I.”

When Jesus is revealed, faith rises to do what was previously impossible.

B. The Road to Emmaus

Luke 24:13–31

The two disciples walked with Jesus but did not recognize Him.

They listened to Him teach, yet still did not know who He was.

Only when their eyes were opened did they recognize Him.

Sometimes Jesus is closer than we realize, but only revelation enables us to truly see Him.

4. Revelation Changes Our Identity

The more Jesus is revealed to us, the more we begin to see ourselves the way He sees us.

Peter walked on water after Jesus revealed Himself.

A fresh revelation of Christ produces a new confidence in our calling and identity.

5. The Cave of Adullam: Revelation Produces Mighty Men

1 Samuel 22:1–2
2 Samuel 23:8

David was joined by about four hundred men who were:

In distress
In debt
Discontented
Broken and discouraged

Yet these same men later became known as David’s Mighty Men.

They did not simply receive military training—they were transformed.

Just as David points us to Christ, an encounter with the true King changes ordinary people into mighty men and women.

When Jesus is revealed, we stop seeing ourselves through our past and begin seeing ourselves through His purpose.

Conclusion

This month is not about learning more information about Jesus.

It is about experiencing a fresh revelation of Him.

When Jesus is revealed:

Fear gives way to faith.
Identity replaces insecurity.
Weakness becomes strength.
Ordinary people become extraordinary vessels in God’s hands.

Our prayer this month is simple:

“Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself to me afresh. Open the eyes of my heart that I may know You more deeply, and as I see You, transform me into who You have called me to be.”

Key Scripture: Hebrews 4:1

Introduction

* God brought Israel out of Egypt, sustained them with manna, and promised them a land of inheritance.
* Although the promise was certain, they had to confront giants before possessing it.
* Every believer also faces spiritual “giants” that try to stop them from entering God’s promises.

The Seven Giants We Must Defeat

* Hittites – Fear and intimidation. Fear people less and trust God more.
* Girgash*tes – Instability and going backward. Stay firmly grounded in Christ.
* Amorites – Pride, arrogance, and criticism. Walk in humility.
* Canaanites – Greed and materialism. Love God above possessions.
* Perizzites – Lack of discipline and self-control. Live a surrendered life.
* Hivites – Self-indulgence and worldly pleasures. Choose sacrifice over comfort.
* Jebusites – Immorality and impurity. Honour God with your body.

Lessons from Israel

* Israel could not defeat their enemies in their own strength—they needed God.
* Trials are opportunities to see God’s power at work.
* An entire generation missed the Promised Land because they refused to believe God’s Word.
* Joshua and Caleb had a different spirit—they focused on God’s greatness instead of the size of the giants.

Application

* God has already promised you an inheritance—don’t allow fear, pride, compromise, or the world to rob you of it.
* Decide whose report you will believe: the circumstances or God’s Word.
* There comes a moment when you must declare: “I am not living like this anymore!”
* It is time to possess your promises and refuse to fall short of what God has prepared for you.

STRETCH – Ask for the Nations!

Key Scripture: Psalm 2:8

“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.”

* God invites us to ask—many of His purposes are released through prayer and relationship.
* Although Jesus is the Son, the Father still tells Him to ask, showing that asking is a Kingdom principle.
* God wants us to stretch our faith beyond our current limitations.
* God is inviting us to ascend—to come up higher into the realm of God’s possibilities.
* We ascend by yielding to the Holy Spirit.

Stretch Your Mind

Proverbs 23:7
“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

* Your thinking determines your asking.
* You cannot pray beyond your thought life.
* The size of your prayers is limited by the size of your vision.
* Ask yourself: What am I asking God for?

The Power of Exposure

* Stretching begins with changing the picture in your mind.
* Exposure expands your vision.
* Sometimes exposure comes at a cost, but it is an investment in your future (e.g., travelling, learning, new environments).
* The picture you carry in your mind influences what you believe God can do.

Stretching Requires Growth

* Your mind is like a muscle—it must be stretched to become stronger.
* Just as muscles grow through resistance in the gym, your faith and thinking grow when challenged.
* Growth happens outside your comfort zone.

Be Transformed

Romans 12:2

* Do not conform to the patterns and limitations of the world.
* Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
* A renewed mind produces renewed prayers, renewed faith, and renewed possibilities.

Challenge

* Stretch your thinking.
* Stretch your faith.
* Stretch your prayers.
* Ask God for the nations and believe Him for what seems impossible.

Stretched: Going All In – The Full Allotment (Joshua 15)

1. God is faithful to fulfill every promise.
Just as He fulfilled His promise to Abraham centuries later, God will accomplish every promise He has spoken over your life.

2. God is faithful to every detail of your story.
Every twist, trial, and season has purpose. God wastes nothing—He uses every part of your journey for His glory.

3. Stretching requires going all in.
This season calls for wholehearted commitment, leaving behind hesitation and fully pursuing everything God has prepared.

4. Your blessing has a Kingdom purpose.
God blesses you not only to prosper but to advance His Kingdom and become a blessing to others.

5. Be like Caleb—a person of faith.
Caleb saw the giants but believed God’s promise. Faith focuses on God’s voice more than life’s obstacles.

6. Develop Caleb’s character.
Caleb demonstrated patience (waiting 45 years), boldness (asking for the mountain), perseverance (conquering at 85), and mentorship (raising Othniel).

7. God is a God of abundance.
With God it’s not “either/or” but “both/and.” He has the capacity to bless you abundantly so you can fulfill His purposes.

8. Ask for the full allotment.
Like Aksah, don’t settle for partial blessings. Ask God for everything needed to sustain and maximize your inheritance.

9. Be ready when God asks, “What can I do for you?”
Like Solomon, Bartimaeus, Esther, and Aksah, respond with faith, wisdom, boldness, and specific requests.

10. Guard against the enemy’s snares.
Resist deception, fear, compromise, disunity, and discouragement—especially the temptation to give up just before your breakthrough.
