The Glen View Circuit was transformed into a vibrant celebration of faith, talent, music and youthful energy as it proudly hosted the inaugural Harare Central District Children’s Ministry Conference, held in conjunction with the much-anticipated 2026 Choral Music Festival.
The event was honoured by the presence of the District Superintendent, Rev. T. Mutudza, who attended alongside several pastors from across the district. Their presence added great significance to the occasion and demonstrated the church’s strong support for the growth, development and spiritual wellbeing of its children.
From the moment the programme began, the atmosphere was electric. The venue echoed with joyful praise; powerful harmonies and the beautiful sound of young voices united in worship and song. It was more than just a conference or music competition—it was a colourful celebration of the incredible gifts, growth and achievements of children across the district.
One of the most inspiring highlights of the conference was seeing the children confidently take centre stage, standing before the crowds to present and read their Circuit Reports. With courage and pride, they shared the remarkable achievements, activities and milestones their circuits had accomplished over the past year. Their presentations gave the audience a powerful glimpse into the vibrant work of the Children’s Ministry and demonstrated that the future of the church is indeed bright and in capable hands.
As the music festival unfolded, the competition became even more thrilling, with every circuit bringing its very best to the stage. Mufakose stole the spotlight in the Own Choice category, delivering captivating and well-selected pieces that impressed both the audience and adjudicators.
The honours continued as Budiriro West claimed the prestigious Best Conductor award, with outstanding leadership, precision and masterful direction that brought their performance to life. Meanwhile, Warren Park added colour and glamour to the festival, walking away with the Best Dressed award for their creative, elegant and eye-catching dresses.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for!
As the final results were announced, cheers erupted across the venue as the host choir, Glen View, was crowned the Overall Champion of the 2026 Choral Music Festival. Their breathtaking performances, powerful voices and remarkable unity won the hearts of the crowd and secured a truly memorable victory on their home ground.
The inaugural Harare Central District Children’s Ministry Conference and 2026 Choral Music Festival was undoubtedly a resounding success, bringing together children, leaders, pastors, parents, and congregants for an unforgettable experience of worship, fellowship, creativity, and healthy competition.
It was a day where young voices spoke boldly, young talents shone brightly, achievements were celebrated, and music brought everyone together.
Indeed, the children came, sang, shared, celebrated and conquered!
