Last Sunday we heard from Pastor Dan.
He shared from Hebrews 11:11
As children of God we don’t belong to this world that we are living in. We are not here to stay. This world is not our home.

Abraham was righteous because he had faith in God.

We are not righteous through good works.

Righteousness is from God and is given to everybody who comes to Him to receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour by faith.

Truly receiving and Christ is our repentance as it acknowledges what he can give us - righteousness, meaning we acknowledge at the same time we are sinners who need to be saved from our sin.

The day you truely receive Christ is the day you receive righteousness.

We had a wonderful, combined service with Pastor Richard Langworthy this week.

He shared from Hebrews 10.
Verses 1-9 “I have come to do your will oh God.”
Hebrews is not written to a particular church - it is written to a scattered people. A persecuted people.

There’s a spiritual blindness in the world today - the devil doesn’t want people to know Jesus. He is trying to remove the knowledge of God from wherever he can.

God asks us to take a journey of faith.
The road of righteousness is contrary to the lives of the people around us.
Hebrews 10:16
God puts his covenant and laws in our hearts.

We must choose - obedience to God or conformity to the world.

Pastor Sam shared the word of the Lord with us this Sunday.

He shared that sometimes we deal with people and all they feel is the hand of man.
2 Timothy 4
We need to continually preach the word- with patience, trusting the Lord to do HIS work in His people in His time and His way.
Hebrews 10:1-25

We want to have faith for one another’s lives.

Philippians 3:12 -15
“..And if in anything you think otherwise- God will revel even this to you..”
Luke 9:23

The Holy Spirit will impress things on our hearts and set us free.

There is no room for us to give up on anyone - we must continue to trust God, continue to wait and to pray.

When the Son of Man sets you free - then we are free!

Don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on your brother or sister. It is God who accomplishes the work in our lives.
He who began a good work is faithful! And He will bring it to completion.

Pastor Sam shared with us from the Lord of the Lord.
He shared that,”God is supreme. Who can reason out his plans? But whatever comes - God remains God and he still sits on the throne.

Romans 11:33 -36
“ for who has known the mind of the Lord? And who has been his counsellor ?”

David says “ one thing I long for , this is what I seek, to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.”

Our calling is to behold his Greatness. And to lift up and exalt his name.

Regardless of your season in life - he remains God. He sits on the throne.

We are called to persevere and to look into Jesus. He knows us by name.

Don’t give up on life because of a situation you are going through. He remains God. Great power and might are in his hands. May faith arise in our hearts. We cannot understand his ways, but we can trust his heart. It’s not about how we think or feel- it’s about who God is.”

This Sunday brother Boniface shared some treasures with us as he preached the Word of the Lord this Sunday. He shared that,

The greatest miracle in our lives is our salvation. We become the children of God when we believe in Jesus.

Holiness is the life of Christ made manifest in us.

We have passed from death to life because we love the brethren. The love of Christ should be in us.

We need to lay down our lives for each other, and be there for each other , to love each other from the depths of our hearts. Otherwise we have a religion. Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with Christ where he changes us.

On Saturday we had a wonderful ladies fellowship. We were blessed to have sister Fridah from Zambia visiting us and Sharing the word of the Lord with us. After the meeting we had a time of fellowship and sharing with tea and cake. Our cups are filled.

Sister Fridah shared many treasures with us. She shared,

Who am I that the Lord should use me ?
We are nothing without the grace of the Lord.

Let’s reflect on the mercies of God. When we see all he has done for us - we will want to give him our everything.

God has an assignment for all of us. To serve him.

Today there is a voice of mercy coming to you. I do not condemn you. I want to use you. I have created you for good works

The significance of what Mary did when she poured the oil on Jesus was to identify herself with his burial. With his death. Mary gave everything because she felt the mercy of Jesus. The forgiveness of Jesus.

The cross is a place of denial. It’s a place of loosing. It’s a place of humility and forgiveness. For you to carry the death of Jesus in your body it means that you are forgiving the person who has wronged you. Our flesh is a roadblock to what Christ wants to do in our lives.

Obedience is painful. Submission is painful. But this is what Jesus went through.

Jesus will meet us in the small daily things we go through. He wants our obedience in all these small daily things that touch our lives. Then we can become tender in the hands of God.

Brother Richard carried on with teaching this week and he shared on-
The Hope that We Have.

For Jesus to walk out of the tomb, suffering and death had to take place first.

As God shapes us into His image, we will certainly experience suffering in our flesh as ungodly elements of our character are put to death by the work of the Holy Spirit, but we must never forget the resurrection - without that we have no hope.

We don’t get to choose our own way.

To serve the Lord we need to accept His plan and His way.

Romans 5:8
“This is how we know love. That’s whilst we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
1 John 4:10
“Is this is love, not that we lived God, but that he loved us , that he sent his son to die for our sins…”

God loves us and he shows no favouritism. The Lord knows each one of us and what we need. He loves us all equally.

The cross he took for all.

The Lord wants to make us like him.

That is why he needs to break us and bring us to a place of humility because he wants to trust us with his life.

God wants to use us but it has to be in the context of humility and brokenness so that we can be effective.

1 Peter 5:5-11
Galatians 5:16

We must not allow the trials of this life and the testing of our faith to bring us to a place where we are miserable.

The fruit of walking in the spirit is joy and peace.

The Lord is desires there to be joy in our service.

We must abandon the pursuit of the happiness that the world offers.

It’s not what we are called to run after.

The goal and the purpose of our lives is not just to be happy.

If it’s our goal - we will fail.

However, as we walk in the spirit and we produce the fruit of the spirit in our lives, will we not be joyful?

We will be filled with joy which is a by product of a life lived in the spirit. It is the fruit of obedience.
