The gospel does not merely offer forgiveness without transformation. God’s saving grace changes the sinner from the inside out. True conversion is not simply saying a prayer, walking an aisle, or joining a church; it is being united to Christ and receiving a new life.

Scripture teaches that those whom God justifies, He also sanctifies (Romans 8:29–30). Grace not only pardons our guilt—it produces holiness in our lives. A changed heart will increasingly produce changed desires, attitudes, and conduct.

This does not mean Christians become perfect overnight. Sanctification is a lifelong work of God’s grace. But where there is genuine saving faith, there will be genuine spiritual fruit.

Cheap grace says, “Believe and remain unchanged.”
Real grace says, “Believe in Christ—and He will transform you.”

YOUR INHERITANCE IN CHRIST IS GREATER THAN YOU THINK

Many believers spend their lives asking God for what He has already provided, simply because they have never discovered the riches of their inheritance in Christ. The New Testament reveals that redemption is far more than the forgiveness of sins. Through Christ, believers have been brought into a new covenant where every spiritual blessing has already been secured. The challenge is no longer persuading God to give, but learning to receive by faith what He has already made available.

The Scriptures repeatedly declare, "In whom we have..."—not "we hope to have" or "we may someday receive." In Christ, we already possess redemption, righteousness, and a new standing before the Father. Our relationship with God is no longer built upon our own performance but upon the finished work of Jesus Christ. This truth gives the believer confidence to approach God, not as a servant trying to earn acceptance, but as a child who has been welcomed into His family.

Faith grows when we stop focusing on our weaknesses and begin focusing on what God has declared to be true about us. The more we meditate on our position in Christ, the more we become established in the realities of redemption. Fear gives way to confidence, condemnation is replaced with assurance, and uncertainty is overcome by the certainty of God's promises. Spiritual growth is the result of continually feeding on the truths of God's Word until they become the foundation of our daily lives.

The Christian life was never intended to be lived from a place of spiritual poverty. God has already provided an abundant inheritance for every believer through His Son. As we discover and embrace these covenant realities, we begin to live with boldness, gratitude, and unwavering confidence. We no longer see ourselves as people trying to reach God—we live as sons and daughters who have already been brought near through Jesus Christ.

Every believer has an inheritance in Christ, but only those who renew their minds with God's Word will fully enjoy it. The more we understand what belongs to us in Him, the more our lives reflect the victory, peace, and authority that Christ purchased through His finished work.

I SPENT YEARS SEARCHING... UNTIL I DISCOVERED THE SECRET

For a long time, I believed the Christian life depended on how hard I could hold on to God. I strained, struggled, and feared that one wrong step would cause me to lose everything He had given me. The harder I tried, the more exhausted I became.

Then the Holy Spirit revealed a truth that changed everything.

The victorious life is not about my ability to hold on to Christ—it is about Christ holding on to me.

I realized that Christianity is not centered on possessing a blessing but on living in relationship with a Person. Jesus never asked me to carry the burden of keeping myself. He simply invited me to abide in Him. My responsibility was not endless striving, but continual trust.

That revelation brought a rest I had never known before. I stopped living with fear and started living with confidence. Even when challenges came, I learned that my security was not in my strength but in His faithfulness.

Today, when temptation, uncertainty, or pressure comes, I no longer rely on my own efforts. I fix my eyes on Jesus, rest in His promises, and trust the One who promised never to leave nor forsake me.

The greatest freedom I have found is this: victory is not earned by striving—it is experienced by abiding. The more I rest in Christ, the more His life is revealed through mine.

*The 5 Stages of Rebellion*

*1. The Stage of Offense*
Something was said, done, or not done. A wound is formed.
Instead of talking, they go quiet and start keeping score.
_"A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city"_ Proverbs 18:19

*2. The Stage of Comparison*
They begin to look outside. _"Other leaders are better. Other churches are freer."_
Honor starts to leak. They stop celebrating the house that raised them.

*3. The Stage of Withdrawal*
Accountability dies. They stop reporting, stop serving with the same heart, stop attending consistently.
They become secretive. The relationship gets cold.

*4. The Stage of Justification*
Now they defend what you once corrected them on.
Conviction is gone. They gather with people who agree with their pain and begin to speak against authority.
Rebellion is now called "freedom."

*5. The Stage of Exit*
They leave without peace, without a blessing, without a sit-down.
Sometimes with bitterness, gossip, or division. The goal is no longer to grow, but it’s to prove they were right.

THE DAY EVERYBODY RAN… BUT ELEAZAR REFUSED TO MOVE!

WHAT IF YOUR GREATEST TEST IS NOT WHETHER YOU CAN FIGHT BUT WHETHER YOU WILL STAND WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE RUNS?

There is a little-known man in the Scriptures whose story exposes something uncomfortable about our generation.

His name was Eleazar.
And his story is found in 2 Samuel 23:9–10.
The Bible says, “The men of Israel had retreated, but he stood his ground…”

Stop right there.‼️

Because sometimes the most powerful statement in the Scriptures is not what a man did.
It is what he refused to do.
Eleazar refused to run.
And that is where the story gets uncomfortable.

WHO WAS ELEAZAR?

Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite was one of David's three mighty warriors.
He was not simply another soldier.
He belonged to an elite group of warriors associated with David's kingdom.

The text says that he was with David when the Philistines gathered for battle, and the Israelite army retreated.

Notice the contrast.

There was a battlefield.
There was an enemy.
There was a legitimate reason to be afraid.
And there were soldiers.
But soldiers were running.

Eleazar stayed.

(2 Samuel 23:9–10; 1 Chronicles 11:12–14)

The Hebrew text emphasizes that the Israelites had withdrawn/retreated while Eleazar and David remained engaged against the Philistines.

This is not a story about recklessness.

It is a story about courageous faithfulness in the assignment.

1. ELEAZAR DID NOT NEED THE CROWD TO VALIDATE HIS STAND

This is perhaps the first lesson.

Everybody around him was moving in the opposite direction. And yet Eleazar stayed.
We live in a generation where people ask:Who else is doing it?

Eleazar's question was essentially:What am I supposed to do?

Those are two completely different questions.
Crowds determine popularity.
Conviction determines faithfulness.
The Bible repeatedly shows us that God's purposes are not established by majority vote.

Moses stood before Pharaoh.
David stood before Goliath.
Elijah stood before the prophets of Baal.
Daniel continued praying when prayer became illegal.
The three Hebrew boys refused to bow when everybody else was bowing.
And Jesus stood before Jerusalem knowing exactly what the cross would cost Him.

Faithfulness has never required a crowd.‼️

2. ELEAZAR'S NAME IS ALREADY PREACHING

The name Eleazar comes from the Hebrew El-ʿazar and means essentially “God has helped” or “God is help.”

That is significant.
His name did not mean, Eleazar is strong.
It pointed beyond Eleazar.
God is the helper.
And that is the secret of biblical courage.

Biblical courage is not, I am powerful enough.⚠️

It is, God is with me.🙌🏼

David said, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear.”
Psalm 118:6

Paul said, “If God be for us, who can be against us?”Romans 8:31

The strength of the believer is never ultimately located in the believer.
Our sufficiency comes from God.

Paul said, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves… but our sufficiency is of God.” 2 Corinthians 3:5

That is Eleazar.🙌🏼

His very name points to the theology of the story, God is the helper.‼️

3. THE BATTLE REVEALED WHAT THE CROWD COULD NOT SEE

The Israelites saw Philistines.

Eleazar saw a battlefield where he had an assignment.

And sometimes the same situation produces completely different responses because people are interpreting reality differently.

Fear says:Look how many are against us.
Faith says, Look who is with us.
The spies in Numbers 13 saw giants and themselves as grasshoppers.
Caleb saw the same giants but interpreted the situation through God's promise.

Numbers 14:9 "The LORD is with us: fear them not.”

Faith does not deny the existence of giants.
Faith refuses to make giants bigger than God.

4. ELEAZAR FOUGHT UNTIL HIS HAND CLUNG TO THE SWORD

This is one of the most dramatic details in the passage.

2 Samuel 23:10 says that Eleazar struck the Philistines until his hand grew tired and his hand clung to the sword.

Think about that.

The sword was no longer simply something he was holding.
The sword had become inseparable from his hand.
The point is not that Christians should literally imitate ancient warfare.
The point is the picture of persistent devotion to the assignment.

And now the New Testament gives us language that makes this picture even more powerful.

Paul calls, “the sword of the Spirit… the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word of God as living and powerful.
Jesus Himself defeated Satan's temptations by declaring, “It is written…”
Matthew 4:4, 7, 10

So there is a Christ-centered principle here, The believer must become so saturated with God's Word that the Word becomes the instrument through which he thinks, discerns, resists and stands.

Not Bible quotations without understanding.
Not religious slogans.

Truth.‼️

5. NOTICE SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT:

ELEAZAR DID NOT WIN BECAUSE HE WAS STRONGER THAN EVERYBODY.

The text says, “The LORD brought about a great victory that day.” 2 Samuel 23:10

There it is‼️

ELEAZAR FOUGHT.
GOD GAVE THE VICTORY.

Both truths belong in the same sentence.
This destroys two theological extremes.

One extreme says, “God does everything, so I don't have to do anything.”

The other says, “Everything depends on me.”
Neither is biblical.

Paul said, “I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.”1 Corinthians 3:6

We participate.
God supplies.

We labour.
God gives increase.

We stand.
God gives victory.

We preach.
God saves.

We fight the good fight of faith.
God sustains us.

Grace does not produce passivity.
Grace produces participation.

6. AND HERE IS THE PART THAT WILL MAKE SOME PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE…

The Bible does NOT say Eleazar won because he was the strongest man in Israel.
It does not say he won because he had a special “warrior anointing.”
It does not say he possessed a supernatural sword.

It says He stood.
And the LORD brought about the victory.
This should challenge the modern obsession with personalities.
We have created a Christianity where everybody wants to be the “mighty man.”
Everybody wants a platform.
Everybody wants recognition.
Everybody wants a title.
Everybody wants to be celebrated.

But sometimes God is looking for somebody who will simply stand.

Ephesians 6:13 “Having done all, to stand.”

Notice👉🏼 STAND Not trend. Not perform.
Not impress. STAND.‼️

7. ELEAZAR'S STORY POINTS US TOWARD CHRIST

Remember Eleazar is not Jesus.
The passage is not secretly saying that Eleazar literally was Christ.
That would be bad hermeneutics.

But the whole Old Testament moves toward Christ, and its patterns can illuminate realities fulfilled in Him.

David's kingdom anticipates the greater kingdom of God's Messiah.
David's mighty warriors fought for David's kingdom.

And Jesus Christ is the greater King.‼️

The New Testament identifies Jesus as, the Son of David
(Matthew 1:1)

the King
(Revelation 19:16)

the Captain/Author of our salvation
(Hebrews 2:10)

And He Himself stood when everybody else abandoned Him.

When Jesus went to the cross, His disciples fled.
Mark 14:50 “And they all forsook him, and fled.”

Everybody ran.

Jesus remained.

That is where Eleazar's story becomes profoundly Christological.

Eleazar stood when soldiers ran.
Christ stood when His disciples fled.

And Christ's standing was infinitely greater.‼️

Eleazar fought an earthly enemy.
Christ confronted sin, death and the powers of darkness.

Eleazar's battle produced victory for David's kingdom.
Christ's death and resurrection accomplished redemption for His people.

Colossians 2:15 declares that Christ disarmed the rulers and authorities and triumphed over them.

8. CHRIST IS THE ULTIMATE ONE WHO STOOD

This is the gospel.

We often preach, Be like Eleazar. Be strong. Fight harder.
But the gospel goes deeper.
Before we tell people to stand like Eleazar, we must tell them about the One who stood for them.

Jesus stood in our place.‼️
He bore our sin.
He endured the cross.
He conquered death.
He rose again.
And now our ability to stand is rooted in what He has already accomplished.

Paul therefore does not begin Ephesians 6 with, Go and become strong.

“Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10

IN THE LORD.🙌🏼
There is the gospel.
Christian courage is not self-generated courage.

It is Christ-dependent courage.‼️

9. SOMETIMES YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM IS NOT THE ENEMY IT IS THE PEOPLE RUNNING AROUND YOU.

Read the passage carefully.
The Philistines were the obvious enemy.
But the immediate crisis was that Israel had retreated.

That means Eleazar had to stand without the support of the larger army.
And this happens in life.
Sometimes you are not fighting because everybody is against you.
You are fighting because everybody who was supposed to stand beside you has become afraid.

And this is where maturity is revealed.

Can you obey God when nobody applauds?
Can you remain faithful when nobody notices?
Can you preach truth when it costs you popularity?
Can you maintain integrity when compromise would be profitable?
Can you remain faithful to Christ when the crowd moves in another direction?
Because following Jesus has never been a popularity contest.

Jesus said:“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18

10. BUT HERE IS ANOTHER WARNING:

DO NOT USE ELEAZAR TO JUSTIFY FOOLISHNESS.

This is where we need biblical balance.

“Standing your ground” does not mean refusing correction.

It does not mean being stubborn.
It does not mean defending every personal opinion.
It does not mean remaining in an abusive situation because you want to prove you are spiritual.
It does not mean fighting everybody who disagrees with you.
And it certainly does not mean calling every disagreement “persecution.”

Jesus Himself withdrew from hostile crowds at times.

Paul escaped danger.

David sometimes fled.

There is a difference between courage and foolishness.

Biblical courage is standing for God's will.

Stubbornness is standing for your ego.

Learn the difference.

11. WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO RAN?

This is also important.

The text does not spend the entire passage condemning them.

Why?

Because Scripture is not primarily trying to teach us:

“Look how bad the cowards are.”

It is showing us what happened when one man remained faithful in the moment.

The lesson is not:

“Become superior to those who ran.”

The lesson is, “Be faithful with what God has placed before you.”

Paul says, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”»

— 1 Corinthians 4:2

Not famous.

Not viral.

Not celebrated.

Faithful.

12. AND LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED AFTER ELEAZAR STOOD…

The troops eventually came back.

But the text says they returned only to strip the dead.

What a picture.

There are moments when someone has to fight through the difficult stage so that others can later enjoy the fruit.

This is why we should honour pioneers.
The person who built the ministry when nobody believed in it.
The mother who prayed before her children understood prayer.
The pastor who preached when there were only a handful of people.
The entrepreneur who started before there was money.
The believer who remained faithful when nobody was watching.

Somebody's present harvest may be standing on somebody else's past faithfulness.

13. THE CHRISTIAN APPLICATION

The New Testament does not tell us to fight human beings.

Paul says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood…” Ephesians 6:12

Our warfare is spiritual.
Our weapons are not carnal.

2 Corinthians 10:4 says, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God…”

So the mature believer does not spend his life fighting people.

He fights lies with truth. temptation with obedience. fear with faith. bitterness with forgiveness. error with sound doctrine.
darkness with light.sin with the power of the gospel.And above everything he stands in Christ.🙌🏼

14. ELEAZAR'S STORY TEACHES US SOMETHING ABOUT HUMANITY

Human beings are deeply influenced by crowds.

We see it in Exodus.
Israel wanted to return to Egypt because the wilderness became uncomfortable.

We see it in Numbers.
The majority report frightened an entire nation.

We see it in 1 Samuel.
Israel wanted a king because other nations had kings.

We see it at Jesus' trial.
The crowd shouted for Barabbas.

And we see it today.
People can believe something simply because everybody around them believes it.

But truth is not established by majority vote.
Noah was right while the world was wrong.
Joshua and Caleb were right while the majority spies were wrong.
Christ was right while the religious establishment condemned Him.

Therefore, Never confuse popularity with truth.

15. THE REAL QUESTION FOR YOU

Maybe your battlefield is not a literal battlefield.

Maybe it is your marriage.
Your ministry. Your integrity. Your calling.
Your business. Your parenting. Your faith.
Your commitment to sound doctrine.
Your decision to forgive.
Your refusal to compromise.
Your determination to remain faithful to Christ.

And maybe everyone around you is saying Run.
But God is saying: Stand.

Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…”

Notice again. STAND.

THE CHRIST-CENTERED CONCLUSION

Eleazar was not the Savior.
He was not the Messiah.
He was not the source of the victory.
The text itself says, “The LORD brought about a great victory.”
Eleazar was the faithful servant who stood in the battlefield.

And that points us to something greater.
Jesus Christ is the ultimate faithful One.
Where humanity failed, Christ obeyed.
Where Adam fell, Christ stood.
Where Israel failed, Christ remained faithful.
Where disciples fled, Christ endured.
Where sin demanded judgment, Christ bore the cross.
Where death claimed victory, Christ rose again.
And because Christ stood victorious, we can now stand in Him.

That is the gospel.
We don't stand so that Christ will love us.
We stand because Christ has already loved us.
We don't fight to earn victory.
We fight from Christ's victory.
We don't stand to become God's children.
We stand because, in Christ, we already belong to God.

So when everybody runs…
When culture shifts…
When truth becomes unpopular…
When compromise becomes profitable…
When obedience becomes costly…
When your faithfulness is misunderstood…

STAND.‼️

Not because you are strong enough.
But because, ELEAZAR MEANS GOD IS OUR HELP!!!
