πŸ“– THE TIME IS NOW

Hag. 1:4 β€” β€œIs it time for you yourselves to dwell in your panelled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?”

There came a time when the remnants of the children of Israel returned from captivity in Babylon. They had come back to their land, and each person became preoccupied with rebuilding and beautifying his own house.

But there was one house they were neglectingβ€”the House of God.

They kept saying, β€œThe time has not yet come to rebuild the House of the LORD.” But God challenged their thinking through the prophet Haggai:

β€œIs it time for you yourselves to dwell in your panelled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?”

In other words, is it the right time for you to build your house, but somehow, it is not yet the right time to build God's House?

That same question can be asked of the Church today.

Is it time for us to build our own houses, buy our own cars, wear expensive clothes, and pursue our personal dreams, while the House of God remains unfinished?

We are not saying that it is wrong to build a house.

It is not wrong to buy a car.

It is not wrong to enjoy the blessings that God has given you.

The issue is priority.

What is wrong is when we devote 100% of what God has placed in our hands to ourselvesβ€”our houses, our cars, our businesses, our clothes, while completely ignoring the House of God.

The Bible reminds us in:

> Deut. 8:18 β€” β€œAnd you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.”

We should not forget the House of the One who gave us the resources to build our own houses.

There is no need to wait for a better time to build God's House. Now is the time.

πŸ“– YES, WE CAN

Numbers 13:31 β€” β€œBut the men who had gone up with him said, β€˜We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.’”

When Moses sent the twelve spies to explore the land of Canaan, they all came back with the same report concerning the land. They agreed that it was indeed a good landβ€”a land flowing with milk and honey, just as God had promised.

They even brought back the fruit of the land as evidence of its richness and fertility.

They saw the same land. They saw the same fruit. They saw the same giants. But they did not have the same conclusion.

Joshua and Caleb said, in essence, β€œLet us go up and possess the land, for we are well able to overcome it.”

The other ten said, β€œWe are not able.”

The difference was not what they saw. The difference was how they interpreted what they saw.

The ten spies looked at the giants and concluded, β€œWe can not do it.” Joshua and Caleb looked at the same giants and said, "We can do it."

THE SAME PRINCIPLE APPLIES TO US TODAY

As we embark on the My Brick, My Cathedral Building Campaign, there are those who shall look at the size of the project and conclude, "We are not able to build it." Then there are others who shall look at the same project and say, "We can do it."

Which side are you on?

Are you on the side of those who shall say, "We can't," or you are the Joshua and Caleb of this generation who are saying, "Yes, we can build the Cathedral."
