π PERCEPTION
By Prophet Dr TB Bondera
Num.13.31 - But the men who had gone up with him said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we."
When Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem, initially both her daughters-in-law, Orpah and Ruth, followed her.
After travelling for a while, Naomi told them to go back to their homes, as she had no other sons for them to marry and was also too old to bear more children. Acting on that information, Orpah decided to return to Moab, whilst Ruth chose to follow Naomi, and ultimately, we hear of her being married to Boaz.
The same information given by Naomi produced different results.
In Numbers 13, Moses selected one man from each of the twelve tribes of Israel to go and spy out the land of Canaan. All the men saw the same land, the same fruits, and the same people who lived there, including the children of Anak, yet they returned with different reports.
Ten believed they could not conquer the land, whilst Joshua and Caleb believed they could. Same mission, different reports.
In both of these scenarios, you will notice that it is how you process the information you receive and how you perceive situations that ultimately determine the results you produce.
With the same information, you can either go back to Moab or proceed to Bethlehem. With the same information, you can either believe that Canaan is yours or believe that it is not.
Perception matters.
