DEAD?
Acts 14:20 NKJV
*However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.*

The Jews from Antioch and Iconium stoned Paul until they were certain he was dead, then they dragged his body out of Iconium and left it there. The condition Paul's body was in is unimaginable especially since he was both stoned and dragged for quite a distance.

The deep hatred the Jews had for Paul meant that they put their heart into stoning him. Despite all that the believers had seen being done to Paul, they still gathered around Paul's lifeless body.

As the believers were gathered around what was presumed to be dead, the power of God moved! Paul was miraculously revived, and healed!

The move of God was so powerful that Paul went straight back into the city where he was stoned! The move of God on Paul's life was so strong that he had no need to fear those who had just stoned him, they were now rendered powerless to affect him in anyway!

The next day, Paul carried on with His journey as though nothing had happened!

There are things in our lives that are attacked and damaged so badly that they might as well be dead because there is no way to fix them. Relationships, reputations, businesses, ministry, education, etc, can all come under such heavy attacks that they can't survive and continue.

What was a good thing turns into a nightmare or a source of great pain and disappointment. An area of our lives gets so damaged that restoration seems impossible.

However, what is impossible and unthinkable with man is very possible with God! The believers who gathered around Paul were not giants of the faith, they were just ordinary believers whose stories and profiles did not warrant being mentioned.

It was ordinary believers who saw the power of God move on their behalf and cause one of the most iconic ministries to be fully restored! Where the wicked were fully convinced they had ended Paul, God had other plans!

The good news is that God has not changed! No matter what level of devastation the devil has brought into our lives, God has the power to fully restore us and set us back on the path of victory!

As He did with Paul, God will do for us, He will turn around impossible situations and empower us to thrive. Being ordinary believers is all that is needed for us to experience divine intervention.

May what the enemy has worked hard to kill in your life be healed and restored. May what does not look anything like it's supposed to be transformed into the original plan of God.

Where you have been thrown so far of track that recovery is impossible, may you experience the power of God. Where all progress is impossible and the impasse insurmountable, may you experience divine breakthroughs.

Success, victory, healing, restoration, and progress are your portion in Jesus' name.

AND IT CAME TO PASS

MAKE SURE
Matthew 6:14 TPT
*“And when you pray, make sure you forgive the faults of others so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you.*

In order to be an effective Christian and a true reflection of the Character of Christ, there are things we need to make sure that we are doing. We wonder why our prayers aren't working and yet the answers are right in front of us.

If we are to be effective and reflect the character of Christ, we have to decide that feelings DO NOT set our priorities. Feelings more often than not do not allow wisdom and understanding to operate freely, and they are often hindrances to walking in the goodness of God.

Throughout the Old Testament, God made how He feels about sin abundantly clear, He hates sin. Sin makes God angry, it makes Him sad, it exasperates Him, and it handicaps Him in our lives.

Sin has to be punished and death must follow, that's how God feels about it. Now despite the overwhelmingly negative feelings that sin stir up in God, He does not priorities His feelings.

Feelings said wipe out mankind and start again, but wisdom and understanding said sacrifice your Son so that sin is dealt with once and for all. God chose wisdom and understanding and He never regretted it.

We have attached so much importance to the role of feelings when it involves destiny defining decisions and it is to our detriment. Even when the results are clear before us that our feelings-led decision is not producing good fruit, we side with our feelings.

We become so good at being led by our feelings that all other counsel must be ignored.

The area of forgiveness is one where our feelings are masters at justifying not forgiving. The list of wrongs is as fresh today as when they happened sometimes decades ago.

Feelings make forgiveness conditional on the behaviour of the offender and how he or she makes us feel. While we are making forgiveness conditional to how we feel, our lack of forgiveness is opening doors for the devil to interfere in our lives and it is closing the heavens over us, especially in areas where we need the heavens to open up the most.

Jesus understood how devastating to progress, peace, healing, deliverance, love, prosperity, and unity unforgiveness can be, and so He insisted that forgiveness always be a topic of prayer. Jesus understood that DAILY there are so many things that happen that do their best to open the door for unforgiveness and offence.

Jesus understood that we constantly need God's help to walk free of offence and unforgiveness, and so we have to be vigilant in that area. Jesus wanted it clear that we don't wait to be offended to start praying for help to forgive, we have to ask for help daily regardless of whether offence has come.

Because we have been instructed to make sure we forgive, we can not be casual about all the animosity we carry towards people, including some who are already dead. We have to be crying out to God DAILY for help to forgive those we have labelled unforgiveable.

Only when we forgive do we take back authority over our lives from the person who offended us. Only when we forgive do we give God room to intervene in our lives and open the heavens.

May you break out of the loop of justification you are living in that downplays the necessity of forgiveness and letting go of offence. May you have your mind renewed and find it more important to forgive than to prove how wicked a person is.

May you be set free from the need to see people suffer for what they have done to you. May you walk in the freedom and open heaven that forgiveness brings.

DELIVER
Matthew 6:13 ESV
*And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.*

There are things that keep happening in our lives that shouldn't be happening. We keep falling sick when we get money, conflict always arises when a big breakthrough is about to come.

Every time we work on a deal or project, something always happens to stop it from progressing or to cause it to fail. We always find ourselves having vision and ideas but we never get the funding, permits, or right people to be able to execute successfully.

We always find ourselves being the first to be retrenched, have our salaries cut, or not to be paid. We are always the one to be stopped by the police, immigration, or some other enforcement agency.

Laws, regulations, tariffs, conditions, returns, etc, always seem to change when we get involved in something. We are always dating and always end up seeing the people we date marry someone else.

If we don't recognise these things and address then we will remain victims, frustrated and disappointed. Jesus knew that we can remain in a pit, slavery, conflict, defeat, singlehood, etc, and so he made praying against such things imperative.

Because we are not always aware of what evil is against us nor how it works, Jesus simplified how we should deal with evil. Our daily prayer has to be to ask God to deliver us from evil.

Even when there are no cycles and patterns of evil we have observed in our lives, we are interacting daily with people who engage in different types of evil and they need us to be victims in order for them to succeed. Whether they are coming up with deceptive schemes or engaging in witchcraft, they still need someone to suffer while they gain.

It is folly to assume that everyone has pure motives. It is unwise to assume that people are never influenced by the devil to do things that go against the plans God has for us.

May God deliver you from the evil that others are plotting against you. May God deliver you from the evil the devil is working against you.

May you be delivered from the evil set in motion by your forefathers. May God deliver you from the power of evil systems and structures.

May God deliver you from the evil that is sickness, poverty, strife, contention, and blindness.

May God pour out great wisdom, understanding, and revelation on you. May God's peace, grace, and power overcome the works of darkness in your life.

May mercy liberate you from impossible situations. May relief, refreshing, and victory come from the throne of God into your life.

CONTEXT
Acts 21:12-13 NLT
*When we heard this, we and the local believers all begged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. [13] But he said, "Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus."*

When the believers heard that Paul would be arrested if he went to Jerusalem, they tried to convince him not to go but he would not be diverted. Everyone thought it was a warning from God but Paul knew better.

When Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, Jesus committed to showing him the things he would suffer for the sake of the Gospel (Acts 9:17). Because Paul had the correct context, what looked like suicidal behaviour was actually Paul walking in the will of God.

It is easy to get into trouble, make mistakes, and walk in disobedience when we lack the whole counsel of God. Anything taken out of context can easily shift from being helpful to detrimental.

Knowing and understanding our context is our responsibility. Walking in victory is not an accident, it is the product of deliberate actions that include gaining understanding.

Hebrews tells us that when Moses had grown up, by faith he refused to be identified as the Son of pharaoh's daughter, instead, he chose to identify as a Hebrew. While Moses' faith was on point, he did not understand the context he was in and so his correct intention of wanting to liberate the Israelites backfired.

The context of his assignment was that the deliverance of the Israelites would happen after four hundred years according to what God told Abraham. Moses decided to fight the oppression of the Israelites at the three hundred and ninety year mark which was too early!

Despite all the faith that Moses had, he operated out of context and it resulted in the will of God for the Israelites being delayed by thirty years.

Jesus received a message that Lazarus was gravely ill and he was needed urgently. Jesus had the faith and ability needed to heal Lazarus, but He instead deliberately went in a different direction and only showed up after Lazarus was dead and buried.

Normally Jesus would have shown up as soon as possible but He knew that in the case of Lazarus there was a context that required a different approach. What God wanted to achieve required Lazarus to be dead and buried and so Jesus stuck to walking in context, and God was glorified.

We often judge ourselves without consideration of the context we are in and our conclusions are often wrong. We conclude we are failures because we are not yet rich or haven't been promoted.

We assume it's too late to get married, to have children, or to own property because our lives have not followed the expected template.

The Bible tells us that the sons of Issachar understood issues of context and so they would know what needed to be done. They were able to override fear, zeal, assumptions, immaturity, etc, and find out the exact will of God for that moment.

May your eyes open to understand your context. May pressure from people, condemnation, shame, zeal, and pain not drive you to do things outside of context and end up costing you much.

May you learn to understand a person's context before drawing conclusions about him or her.

A CHANNEL
Acts 21:8-9 NLT
*The next day we went on to Caesarea and stayed at the home of Philip the Evangelist, one of the seven men who had been chosen to distribute food. [9] He had four unmarried daughters who had the gift of prophecy.*

Caesarea is the place where the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Gentiles. Philip's ministry was one marked by a demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit with much deliverance, healing and miracles taking place.

It is no surprise to see that Philip's daughters also moved powerfully in the Holy Spirit through the gift of prophecy. The prophetic atmosphere these daughters created was so rich that it allowed a senior prophet Agabus to prophesy deep things.

The prophetic manifestation of the Holy Spirit through these daughters left such an impression on Paul that it was a must that their existence had to be recorded for all to know about them. The level of humility that they walked in meant that what mattered was not the recording of their names but what the Holy Spirit was doing through them.

These remarkable daughters of Philip were the evidence that indeed God had poured out His Spirit on all flesh and sons and daughters would prophesy. These remarkable daughters chose to not just be observers of the power of God but to be channels through which the power of God could flow.

The daughters were not evangelistic like their father and they could easily have assumed that the power of God was just for evangelism and excluded themselves from being able to operate in it. Instead, they correctly concluded that the Holy Spirit could manifest His power through them in a different way but just as effectively as He did with their father.

Undoubtedly, Paul and Agabus were grateful for how the daughters concluded the right thing because they were beneficiaries of the flow of the power of the Holy Spirit in the daughters' lives.

Like Philip's daughters, we have to conclude that the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit we see in the lives of other people stands as an example of how the power of the Holy Spirit can be demonstrated through us in our own areas of operation. The power of the Holy Spirit can manifest through us to cause us to excel in the different areas God has called us to operate in.

We have a responsibility to be pursuing the manifest of the power of the Holy Spirit in our homes, offices, ministries, etc. We have a responsibility to ensure that we are creating an environment in which other people can feel and be impacted by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May your ability to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit be multiplied. May your way of thinking allow the power of the Holy Spirit to operate in you and through you on levels you never imagined.

May the atmosphere you create in your room, home, office, car, workspace, etc, bring healing, wholeness, clarity, focus, and wisdom to those who enter it.

GRACE PEACE
Galatians 1:3 KJV
*Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,*

Like Nehemiah, may you receive the grace you need to get things moving and to make sure they are completed even in the face of opposition. Like Moses, may you receive the grace you need to attract the people you need for good things, progress, victories, and abundance to happen in your personal, professional, and Christian life.

Like Hannah, may you no longer care about how things look: May you be relentless in your pursuit of manifesting the will of God. May you walk in the same humility that Esther had that empowered her to be teachable, wise, courageous, and victorious.

Like Abigail, may you walk in a level of wisdom that brings peace to the most tense, confusing, and irredeemable situations. Like Jael, may you walk in the boldness and strategies needed to make the most of what you have and conquer the greatest of enemies.

Like Dorcas, may you walk in an abundance mindset that keeps resources flowing, lives changing, and resurrection power moving on your behalf. Like Deborah, may you walk in peace that allows you to do without fear assignments that other people were supposed to have done.

Like the daughters of Zelophahad, may you walk in the grace needed to bring about permanent change, not just for you but for generations to follow. Like Naomi, may you have people in your life who bring you out of dark places and who bring out the good in you.

Like Zipporah, may your memory, understanding, and ability to maximise knowledge be on another level. Like Mirriam, may praise and worship flow easily from your heart to God.

May you be like the daughters of Philip who could create an atmosphere where the word, will, love, and power of God could thrive. May you be like Mary, know what is important, and be at peace with doing it regardless of the criticism.

BY DESIGN
Exodus 18:5 KJV
*And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:*

Moses was known as the meekest man on earth and it was by design! Meekness is both an attitude and an ability.

In terms of an attitude, meekness is humility, purity, and simplicity. In terms of ability, meekness is patience, endurance, forgiveness, a refusal to take offence, and a willingness to follow instructions.

Moses' assignment required a lot of demonstration of power, and because of that, he is most remembered and associated with demonstrations of God's power. Whether it was the plagues, the Red Sea, or water from a rock, these were all unrivalled demonstrations of power.

Moses was so associated with a demonstration of power that for Joshua to feel like he could replace Moses, he needed to know that he too would experience great demonstrations of God's power. The role of leading Israel came across as one that needed great power to always be on display.

What we miss is that while a demonstration of power was critical to the success of Moses' assignment, what was more critical was his meekness! It was because of the meekness that he could be trusted with such great power!

Without humility, the level of power Moses walked in would have turned him into a cruel dictator. Without simplicity and purity, Moses would not have remained connected to and needing God.

Without humility, simplicity, and purity, Moses would not have been able to live his life serving others, and not feel used.

Without humility, simplicity, and purity, Moses would not have collaborated freely with others, shared the spotlight, and given others room to shine. Moses would not have allowed people to help him where he was weak without feeling diminished somehow.

In terms of ability, Moses' assignment required patience! Repeatedly doing the same things and expecting them to pay off required serious patience.

He kept going to pharaoh with the same request and he was not discouraged by the stubbornness he faced. Being able to judge people's cases day and night without becoming irritable required patience.

The things the Israelites did to Moses including rebellion, stubbornness, and sabotage required endurance, forgiveness, and a refusal to be offended.

Because of his meekness, God made sure that the things he could not do or think of personally were done and thought of by others. Moses was not so good at knowing what was best for himself and his family and so he was given a wife and a father-in-law who did and who executed the wisdom they had.

Moses couldn't read situations well and so he had Aaron: He couldn't lead worship well and so he had Mirriam. God would put gifts and abilities in people so that Moses' life would be a success.

The problem we have is that the devil always tells us something is wrong with who we are and we need to be something and someone else. In the devil's dictionary, meekness is weakness and something to avoid, but in God's dictionary, meekness unlocks a world of strength.

In the devil's dictionary meekness means defeat because people seem to get away with treating us badly and we must fight for ourselves. In God's dictionary, meekness allows His strength to be made perfect in our weakness.

May you recognise where you are trying to be someone God never designed you to be. May you recognise where you are following the devil's definition of things instead of trusting that how God made you is the solution to all you face.

TAKING TERRITORY
Exodus 17:11 NET
*Whenever Moses would raise his hands, then Israel prevailed, but whenever he would rest his hands, then Amalek prevailed.*

Moses kept getting tired holding his hands up while Joshua and the Israelites were fighting the Amalekites. The fact that he got tired did not changed the fact that Israel would only be victorious if he kept his hands up.

Victory was not simply about doing normal things of this world well, there was more to it. Victory needed the spiritual to be part of the winning formula.

Only when there was consistent and persistent employment of spiritual AND natural methods did victory manifest. Only when Joshua fought well persistently and consistently while Moses kept his hands up was Israel able to prevail.

We don't always know how to react when things seem to be going well then suddenly we start experiencing setbacks until we are defeated. We start working on a deal, things seem to be progressing well, then suddenly it comes to nothing.

We start dating, things start off well, but something always happens and the relationship doesn't end in marriage. We start ministry, things take off, but inevitably, they repeatedly collapse.

The mistakes we make can be many especially in the area of assumptions. When we assume everything should be easy because we prayed, gave, acquired the qualification, have the looks, won the tender, etc, we set ourselves up for loss and failure.

When we don't make observations and learn from lessons, we set ourselves up for repeated failure. When we assume that the enemy/ competition will not resist or fight back, we are sabotaging ourselves.

When we are so spiritual that we neglect or disregard the natural things, failure, defeat and loss await. When we ignore the spiritual dimension or take it lightly, we handicap ourselves opening the door for frustration, confusion, defeated, etc.

The word of God is amazingly balanced between the natural and the spiritual. We are told to do things in decency and in order (the natural), and we are told that the weapons of our type of warfare are not of this world (spiritual).

Joshua represented the things of this world and doing them well consistently and persistently: Moses represented the spiritual and doing them well consistently and persistently. When the battled turned out to take longer than expected because of the determination, ability, and persistence of the enemy, Israel still prevailed.

May you quickly receive revelation concerning what you are trying to achieve. May you realise where you are trying to force an assumption to be true when it's not.

May you recognise the things that God has given you to do repeatedly and consistently that give you victory. May you go back to what you have abandoned.
