A 108-YEAR-OLD CATHOLIC CHURCH DESTROYED BY FIRE IN CANADA 🔥⛪️
A historic Catholic church in eastern Canada has been destroyed by a devastating fire that authorities say was intentionally set.
The fire broke out early Monday at Saint-Simon Catholic Church in New Brunswick. Thankfully, the church was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
According to the New Brunswick RCMP, the province’s Fire Marshal determined that the fire was deliberately started.
A 68-year-old local resident, Gilles Mallet, has been arrested and charged with arson. He remains in custody, with a bail hearing scheduled for August 28.
The church, which stood for more than a century, was believed to be the largest remaining wooden church in New Brunswick.
A historic house of worship is now gone. 🙏🏾💔
