What We Learnt at the Domboshava Prayer Mountain
At the Domboshava prayer mountain, we learnt that every Christian becomes a son of God by reason of spiritual birth.
John 1:12 declares that “as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God”, but the word used as "sons" here is téknon, meaning a child by birth, one who is still growing and not yet matured. Just like we are born as children to our biological parents, we are born into God's family as téknon – children by spiritual birth.
However, in Romans 8:14 and 19, which are our anchor Scriptures as a movement, the word "sons" is translated from huiós, which speaks of mature sons, those who have grown into stature, responsibility, and spiritual authority. This level of sonship isn’t just about being born again; it’s about growing into maturity under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
We learnt that those who operate in deep Kingdom authority and carry divine secrets are huiós. For the Spirit searches the deep things of God and does not keep them to Himself, He shares them with mature sons. This is why we call Him the Spirit of Sonship, because true sonship is formed under His guidance and leading.
We also learnt from Scripture that even though a téknon is born of God, full of grace, and an heir to the throne, he will not inherit until he matures.
Therefore creation is not waiting for the téknon, but for the huiós to be revealed (Romans 8:19).
So yes, everyone can be a téknon, but not everyone becomes a huiós.
That transition comes through yielding to the Holy Spirit, and a life given to prayer and the Word of God.
Other Key Things We Learnt:
- The Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil, not only sin, but also the threefold operation of Satan: stealing, killing, and destruction.
- Jesus destroyed these works by giving us eternal life. Eternal life is not just longevity but the very God-kind of life, superior to the effects of sin and death.
- As a child of God, you must *search for the place in Scripture where your specific problem was judged in Christ. For example, if your challenge is sickness, study the Word and discover how it was dealt with. If you search thoroughly, you’ll find in Isaiah, “by His stripes we were healed.”
- Always look at what Christ has done. Just as Moses lifted the brazen serpent in the wilderness, a symbol of judgment, so Christ was lifted up, taking on Himself the judgment for sin, sickness, and all oppression.
This is how we enforce victory: by identifying where it was settled in Christ and standing on that truth.
