1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Earlier today I had a lesson on gratitude from what I might call "an unlikely source" right when I needed it. There's a guy that works as a rank marshal that my wife and I usually just greet as we'll be passing by and today I greeted him as usual and I was like how's your work? He said "We can't complain for if we do so, we might actually experience worse" this statement stayed with me for the remainder of my journey home. I realised that we are so used to complaining about our lives while forgetting all that will be going well in our lives. We are focused on minimising the good that needs our gratitude while magnifying the "bad". Our lives might not be perfectly where we would want them to be but if we are to look at them holistically, we'll realise that there's so much to be grateful for. There's nothing wrong with wanting more out of life, but it shouldn't come at the expense of your gratitude for what you already have. Take time to take stock of all that's in your life and you'll realise that maybe one or two things are not where you want them to be but the rest is going so well for you. Psalms teaches us to not forget all His blessings/benefits (Psalms 103)
I pray that today God teaches me to be grateful always and to set a guard over my mouth from complaining.

Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

Most of us are under the illusion that we are alive only because there is breath in our lungs, but let me show you something for a bit. What sustains life in a person is the purpose(s) of the Lord that they are supposed to carry out. Jeremiah 1 shows us that before a person is born God already sets an assignment for them meaning to say just like a tool is bought for a particular purpose, so is a person created with a specific purpose in mind. Looking at the example of David in the above verse, after completing his purpose(s) during his time that's when he died. He didn't die when he sinned because he hadn't completed his purpose, but when it was done he died. You can also look at how Adam was created for the purpose of staying in and tending to the garden of Eden and when he fell (a dimension of death) because he aborted that purpose, he started experiencing death all around him, the ground that used to provide for him naturally, now required a different system, snakes that used to be subject to him, now pursued him to kill him because he was cut off from his purpose/assignment.
We can't talk about anything without including our perfect example, Jesus. He was so conscious of this thing to the point where He said "...My meat is to do the will of the One who sent Me and finish His work" John 4:34 and right when a painful death was right before Him, He simply uttered "...not My will but Yours" Matthew 26:39. His whole earthly life revolved around fulfilling His assignment, He understood what His physical body was here for: to fulfill a purpose: Hebrews 10:7. When Jesus completed His assignment, there was no need for His physical body to remain in the earthly realm.

Death reigns or has the room/right to operate when either a person has completed their assignment or they have aborted/abandoned it. Don't be content with being just another living organism, seek your purpose and fulfill it before the devil makes you abort it and your life ends up just being a vain life. FYI the true definition of premature death is dying before you have fulfilled your purpose(s).
May the Lord help us

Environments

1 Samuel 10:10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
One of the most important things in life is the environment we maintain around us, as this has the potential to shape our character and destiny. When we talk about an environment it can refer to a physical location, people around us and even the thoughts we conceive and carry continually. An environment has the potential to cause a complete turnaround in a person's character and/or destiny.
From the scripture above, you learn that there was a prophetic environment which was so strong to the point where anyone who entered that environment was just forced to prophesy. To prove that this wasn't a fluke, you see in future encounters, Saul's servants made contact with the environment and prophesied, he also followed suit when he came to the prophetic environment (see 1 Sam 19).
What are we getting to? The environment(s) we keep or continually expose ourselves to has the potential to raise or destroy us. We have to jealously guard these environments if we are to become what God intends for us.

Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do Thy will, O God.

For a while now God has been teaching me about His will and I have to say it's an important subject. The first thing in trying to fulfill God's will is actually death, you die to yourself, to your own desires; imagine right after Jesus said "not My will but Yours be done" the next thing that happened is that He was crucified. There are a lot of things that we hold so dearly in our lives that when we make a decision to pursue and fulfill God's will will be the first things to die if we are to go any further. Until you reach a point whereby NOTHING is too big or too important to leave behind for the sake of God's will, then you can't really say I'm ready for it. Examples that just came as I was typing are those of Abraham when he was ready to sacrifice Isaac, the disciples who were probably family man but their desires died to fulfill a greater will. Don't misquote me here, I'm not saying live recklessly but there is a will that must take precedence to your own will, the will that you're ready to fulfill at all costs.
May God help us to die to self so that we can fulfill His will

THE SECRET OF THE LORD

Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear Him; and He will shew them His covenant.

I so love this verse: Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
But as I was reading the topical scripture (Psa 25:14) I learnt something interesting, there are certain things that we possess because we have gotten a revelation about them as mentioned in Deu 29:29 but Psalms shows us a secret that even those things that are in secret which we can't possess by general revelation can be accessed by something called the fear of the Lord. Deu 29:29 shows us that there are certain things that remain in God because our revelation cannot take us to the point of getting them but now in Psalms we learn a "hidden key" that even grants us access to even those things that belong to God and that is the fear of God. The fear of the Lord is a spirit (Isaiah 11:2) or maybe we can accurately define it as a result of the Holy Spirit inspiring that fear in you and we do not mean that fear that is about intimidation but reverential fear. Reverential fear will result in friendship, look at the examples of Abraham, Moses, David, Apostle Paul etc, you see God even saying Genesis 18:17 "And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;"
Abraham got access to God's secrets because of the friendship that came as a result of the fear he had for God.
The last part then says "He will shew them His covenant", these are dimensions that are not accessed by just everyone but those that fear Him, remember how God had a covenant with David but when his son stopped walking in the fear of the Lord the covenant could no longer stand in its fullness, may we not abort God's plans because of a lack of the fear of God.
May the fear of the Lord rest upon us 🙏🏾
