Recently the Lord has been pressing something in my heart. How we are called to suffer for our faith the same way Christ suffered the cross.
1 Peter 4:12-14 NKJV
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; [13] but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. [14] If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
Today the Gospel is sweet coated for selfish reasons. The pulpit is awash with populist get rich quick Gospel that is leading many believers astray. The Bible teaches that our faith has to be tested, it being more precious than silver and gold which is tested by fire.
1 Peter 1:7 KJV
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
How then can your faith be proven to be genuine if its not tested by challenges?
God sometimes allow us to go through life challenges not to harm us but to refine our faith. Remember His promise not to leave nor forsake us
Hebrews 13:5 KJV
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
God cares so much for us. He loves us so much seeing us go through pain of suffering yet keeping our faith in Him gives us great joy. He actually can boast about it as in the case of Job when he asked Satan that have considered my servant Job how he is faithful before me.
