Today, CCJP Archdiocese of Harare facilitated a training workshop at St Mary’s Queen of Peace Parish - Highfield

Participants included Local Church leaders and community members who came together to co-develop participatory guidelines aimed at protecting communities from Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and child marriages.

The workshop equipped leaders and stakeholders with practical skills to identify, prevent and respond to SGBV and child marriages at the local level.

By strengthening local ownership and leadership, we move closer to building safer, more just and dignified communities for all.

On 14 August 2026 CCJP facilitated a successful community dialogue at Our Lady of Lourdes, Chivhu.

Parishioners and community members came together with their leaders:
Members of Parliament, Ward Councilor, District Government Officers and Chief Chivese.

During the dialogue, we identified key service delivery challenges affecting the Chivhu community and co-developed a clear action plan to address them.

This is Catholic Social Teaching in action grounded in participation, dialogue and the pursuit of the common good.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all leaders who attended and listened.

Today, CCJP facilitated a successful community dialogue at Holy Trinity Parish, Kuwadzana.

Parishioners and community members sat down with their leaders:
MPs (Hon. Hwende - Kuwadzana East MP, & Hon. Matambo - Kuwadzana West MP), Councilor, District Officer Kuwadzana, Municipal Police and the Department of Social Services

Together we discussed service delivery issues affecting the community of Kuwadzana and developed a clear action plan to address them.

Today CCJP Archdiocese of Harare successfully held a training workshop with St. Joseph, Macheke parishioners and community leaders including other Church Leaders and Local Council. The session equipped leaders and stakeholders with practical skills to identify, prevent and respond to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and Child Marriages. Also engaged in developing community guidelines to protect families against sexualized domestic violence and child marriages. Participants included Traditional leaders, Church leaders, Local Council representatives and Political leaders who came together to co-develop participatory guidelines for the protection of communities against sexualized domestic violence and child marriages.

The workshop equipped leaders and stakeholders with practical skills to identify, prevent, and respond to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Child Marriages at the local level.

Today, CCJP Archdiocese of Harare joined CCJPZ together with Zim Lawyers for Human Rights, CPNZ, Zimbabwe Institute, Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, Zim Rights, ZCC, EFZ, UDACIZA, Hon Leslie Mhangwa, Hon Gift Mambiripiri and the ZCBC Secretary, at a Bilateral Engagement Meeting on the Implications of Constitutional Amendment No.3 (CAA3).

We unpacked the legal, political, socio-economic and pastoral implications of CAA3 and assessed its impact on citizens’ rights, governance structures and democratic accountability.

Yesterday, CCJP Archdiocese of Harare joined hands with Mabvuku Council, Mabvuku Polyclinic and community members for a successful training workshop on the formulation of Guidelines for Protection against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Child Marriage.
