Education-Knowledge Argument

In recent years, we have become increasingly critical of universities because degrees no longer guarantee employment or success.

That criticism is valid, but we should not confuse the limitations of the system with the value of education. Tertiary education is not only about getting a job. It is about learning how to think, question, analyse, create and solve problems.

The world may change the skills it demands, but societies will always need people who can think critically and understand complexity. The answer is not less tertiary education. It is better tertiary education.
