Forgiveness is a choice.

In marriage, people do fight or argue because of differences of ideas or even background affects, but we must choose to forgive. God forgave us without us having to pay anything, we must also choose to forgive one another. Matthew 6:14-15

Genesis 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

The order of God in a marriage set up is that the man is the head of the family, which makes him the priest of the house. When God intends to give direction, He usually informs the husband so that there may be order. God did not look for Eve in this instant, though it was Eve who intiated the eating of the fruit but God had given the instruction to Adam not to do it, which means he was the one answerable. And also Eve was made out of Adam which means if she makes the mistake, Adam had to answer to it as well. So the disorder that we see in today's marriage is not new because man sinned and fell short of the glory of God but Jesus Christ by His blood came to restore the order that was there before Adam sinned. When a man comes to Jesus, he is able to lead his family according to how God wants it to be. When a man is submitted to Christ as his head, he is able to be the head of his own family. If that does not happen, you will be out of position as Adam was. God at the same time was not asking Adam about his physical location because nothing is hidden from God, but he was no longer on that position God had left him, that is to lead. Men ask yourselves, are you leading? Women ask yourselves, are you being led?.

Genesis 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Upon all the animals that Adam was given to name, there was none that was found perfect for him until God made him to sleep as He made one that was perfect for him. God will always make us meet the right person for marriage. It is not the wife that chooses the husband but the husband that chooses the wife. A wife must not enter into marriage because she is in love but it should be other way round. Adam was happy to see Eve and he said, indeed this is the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. In his eyes he saw the beauty and it was love at first sight. Men!! God made these beautiful creatures for us to cherish and love them. So lets do that.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Transformation starts in the mind. A worldy mind is an ungodly mind, carnal mind is enmity with God. Marriage is a spiritual covenant which God began because God is Spirit. Those who want to understand marriage must be spiritual people. And being spiritual means not being like the world. It is the will of God for us to have a good marriage.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

The husband can only be the head of the wife when he himself is submitted to Christ. The husband learns on how to be the head of the wife from Christ who is the Head of the Body/Church. The church is similarly called the bride/wife, in which Christ is its bridegroom/head. So as Christ is like the husband of the church and He loved His bride up to the point of dying for it. The same with the husband, he must love the wife without any condition despite all mistakes and errors. Husbands must learn from Christ. So the reason why many marriages are failing is because the husband is failing to submit to Christ and to learn from Him. The wife should submit to a husband who is submitted to Christ so that she learns, but what will she learn if the husband is far away from Christ? Thats when you start to see the wife being ahead and the husband is behind.

1 Corinthians 11:8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

Husband go back on your position and your marriage will succeed.

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Marriage has got a format and it is not man-made. Psalms 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
The author of marriage is God and He must not be excluded in it, those that do it will do it in vain. God lives in us by His Spirit, and it is Him, the Holy Spirit, who came to teach us all things. Wives cannot submit to their own husbands without the Holy Spirit and husbands cannot love their wives without the Holy Spirit. He teaches those in marriage to be able to live according to the format, if they are willing to be led by Him. We resist or reject the Holy Spirit's leading hence grieving Him but He actually wants to teach us about how to live with our spouses, thats why Jesus Christ sent Him, for He knew we cannot do anything right without Him living in us. We think when one makes a mistake in marriage, we can solve it on our own, the author of marriage is there and is always ready to correct everything when we are willing to involve Him, that He may be all of your marriage not part of it.

Marriage is God's foundation

The foundational teaching of marriage is based upon the first establishment of marriage as it was in the garden of Eden. God saw it was not right for him to be alone and He made Adam a perfect helper for him and they lived together. This is the truth that we have to live by that, for there to be a good marriage, God has to be involved.

If the Lord doesn't build a house, the work of the builders is useless. If the Lord doesn't watch over a city, it's useless for those on guard duty to stand watch over it. Psalm 127:1

For a successful marriage, God has to be in all of it. He has to be involved in it because He is its owner. We should just enjoy the benefits of marriage He has given us.
