When God decided to give us the gift of eternal life, it wasn't something that He just thought of on the fly. Long before there was a town called Bethlehem, a garden called Eden, and a planet called Earth, a decision was made in eternity that God would send forth His Son, born of a woman, made under the law, to redeem those that are under the law.

The Bible says that He was slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8). Make no mistake about it: this gift that God has given to us was the most sacrificial thing He possibly could have offered.

So Christmas isn't about those gifts that you have your tree right now. All of those things will be gone one day. All that will be left after this life is the human soul, and that will live forever. We will put so much stock in what we have, but this is all going to pass away.

Life is about what happens beyond the grave. Life is about knowing the God who made you and who gave you the greatest gift you will ever receive.

2 Corinthians 3:15-18
Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

We are children of the new covenant.
Children of the spirit.
The spirit of life.
In this covenant we are called to minister.

Hebrews 4 tells us to approach the throne of grace boldly or with confidence. Jesus has experienced the human life. He knows temptation, sorrow, and heartache. He is also God- the God who gave Himself so we could know Him. You can approach Him freely, constantly, without hesitation or reservation, and with all confidence that He will hear you. No matter what has happened, what you’ve done, how you feel, or how weak you think your faith is, you can approach the God of the universe with confidence. Not proudly, but having the quiet assurance that He will receive you, hear you, and attend to you. You are His.

We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

Righteousness is a gift we receive not a reward we achieve.

• The Bible says He (Christ) who knew no sin, became sin for us so that, we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor 5:21)
• the simple truth is that Christ who is without sin, became sin, so that we who were with sin might become righteousness of God, and not know sin.
• you have victory everyday over sin and the flesh not because you observe a certain number of rules and laws. Your true victory over sin is when you believe and walk in the righteousness of God you already are.
• _Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness._

At the dawn of the new year, I'm filled with hope for what is to come, and I have thankfulness in my heart for what has already passed. I pray that I will keep my focus where it needs to be this year and that we'll all have a year filled with joy, love and happiness.
