The Catholic Youth Association engaged in a tree planting activity in this month of July. This has been funded by the National Office in line with Laudato Si. Laudato Si is an encyclical letter that was written by Pope Francis on the care for common good, where he journeysvalong lines of giving attention to our own environment. As such, the programme of Laudato Si has become, an important milestone in an inspiring journey to mobilize young Catholics to care for creation. Amongst other activities, the Central Deneary of Gokwe CYA decided to plant trees at the Cathedral and at St Paul High school. There is indeed a crucial link between faith and nature conservation which therefore is the core idea.
His Holiness asks youth of Africa "that your initiative may foster among all members of society, especially the young, a greater ecological sensitivity and concern for the environment" This has therefore been considered and taken into action by our youths. Many thanks to the special aid that helped the Diocese to purchase tree and that have led youth into many other activities in as much as Laudato Si is concerned.
