Celebrating the Life and Ministry of Rev J Sekiwa Many have seen great exploits

As the father of many approaches 80 years of age, this page has been long mooted, to allow his many physical and spiritual children to celebrate his life and ministry whilst he still lives amongst us. Rev J Sekiwa, a father and adviser to many, and a true servant of the faith has been an inspiration to many throughout his years in ministry which started in the 70s even before he was ordained as a

Reverend. Born in 1942 according to official records, though disputable as he left home at a very early age and later obtained documents on his own he is set to celebrate his 80th birthday. This page was partly a brainchild of his son Aaron who unfortunately passed on in 2014, as a celebration of his life, and a foundation of inspiring serving ministers and congregants to hold on to the true faith that he believes so steadfastly in. This platform has been set therefore to share, media, stories and anecdotes of how he has impacted several lives across the years, and as an opportunity to celebrate legends whilsst they're still living.

We are proud to announce that our patriarch Rev J Sekiwa celebrated his 80th birthday on the 6th of June 2022. We thank God for the wonderful gift of life!

As such we would like to invite all biological and spiritual sons and daughters, family and friends to a day of thanksgiving and celebration on the 30th of July 2022.

Chronicles of ministry! Humble beginnings!

The highlighted image comes from 1990 in Mvurwi. Rev Sekiwa was conducting baptism for his growing church. Baptisms had to be conducted in river pools when the church did not have a building yet. The Pastor also had to conduct all ceremonies himself as most of the membership was new and yet to mature.

Being baptised in the river was the late Mr Musa, and watching on were the likes of Mr Zehama, the Makosas, Mrs Wasara (late), the Marushos, the Nyamasokas, the Mlambos, Mr Horai,the Fungisais and others.

The core of this membership is what then grew into what is now known as Mvurwi Province and some to Mash Central province of the AFM.

The bulk of this membership was brought to church through door to door visits by the Rev, often building friendships and fellowship with the community. The church must return to this core mission of soul winning!
