Introduction

•The God of this church is good.
• We were brought from places where we did not even want to go to church.
•This was because of some Christians we had seen who wore uniforms to church, but their character was not good.
•One day, young people from ZAOGA came while we were playing football.
•They were short of players, so they asked for one player, and I joined them.
•After the match, they asked me to help them write a wish list to submit to their sponsor because they did not have much knowledge.
• I agreed and later attended their youth service, where I received Jesus Christ.
•I was warmly welcomed.
The sponsor later came, taught the New Believers’ Guide, and invited us to return the following Sunday.
•That is how I started coming to church.

Joshua 1

Joshua had been with Moses for a long time and had become an army commander.
God Himself told Joshua that he would lead His people to the Promised Land.
Although God was with him, He still commanded Joshua to be strong.
As a new deacon, you must be strong in your leadership role.
This work existed before you; you are not bringing something new.
You must understand why you were called.
When you become a deacon, you become a servant of the church.
It is very wrong for a deacon to come late for services.
A deacon’s role is similar to that of an usher.
A deacon should be responsible for ensuring everything in the church is in order.
A deacon is a helper to elders and pastors.
You must be attentive to the physical needs of the people.
It is shameful for an elderly person to carry the offering basket when a deacon is present.
A deacon must win souls. If you do not win souls, you should not be in this role.

Malachi 3:16

God records those who fear Him and think upon His name.

An elder is responsible for the spiritual activities of the church.
An elder must be full of godly character.
Elders assist the pastor in the work of God.
Our spiritual father was full of godly qualities.
Elders may dismiss the congregation with worship songs.
A deacon should not dismiss people when an elder or pastor is present.
Elders should not greet people in a hurry but with care and attention.
An elder is responsible for both the spiritual and physical well-being of believers.

Speaker Elder C. Manyenga

This church is driven by three things:

Prayer
Fear not, sin not
Giving

I came to church when I was in Grade 3, and I joined the youth in Grade 7 because the God of the youth was the one I wanted at that time. They were so vibrant, and I could not continue being in the CE ministry. I became a deacon in Form 3.

No one was getting married in my family. My mother told me, “Even if you come up with a chain of U’s as your results, I am happy that you have reached O Level.” God is faithful I passed and went on to A Level, and then I went to university.

During that time, there were rumors about Nigerian men infecting young girls, and my mother became worried. She said it was better for me to stay at home, but I managed to go to university and graduate. As we speak, I am a journalist by profession.

I was the first person in my family to get married and have a wedding. So when I pray, I do not look at my neighbor because I know where God has taken me from. Some people normally forget when they taste the goodness of this church.

Ministering and Giving

Giving is part of ZAOGA you cannot separate the two.
Giving is God’s principle, which was started by God Himself when He gave us Jesus Christ.
Giving is proof that you have conquered greed.
Giving is a form of worship.
We must stay in the spirit of giving.

Your giving determines your harvest before God.
Giving differentiates.

God gives to those who give so that they will have something to give. That same God withholds from those who are stingy so that they have nothing to give.

Luke 6:38

What you should know as a new believer (Page 36):

* Do not be afraid to give generously to God.
* You need to have something that you do for your church.
* You need to run away from “kanzatu kanzatu.”

In this church, if you do not have money and a good spirit, you are dangerous.

Mutungamiriri Wakanaka (Page 5)

You need to be confident in your work. Use what you have God will bless you.
If you do not use what you have, you will lose it.

If you just pray without giving, you become a “holy poor elder.”
You are praying without creating a reason.
Praying alone does not produce many results.

Salvation is for everyone, but blessings differ.
If you become an elder who only prays, you become rich in God but not rich in money.
