Apostle V Majere shared a powerful sermon titled TRUE WORSHIP reading from John 4 verse 20-24 and Matthew 15 verse 8-9. He taught that as Christians we must understand that there is only one true God. In this world many religions claim lordship, but they fail to recognize that Jesus Christ alone overcame the power of death. The empty tomb in Israel is evidence that our God lives, because other religious leaders died and could not rise again. Jesus declared that He is the only way to the Father, as written in the scriptures that no one comes to the Father except through Him. While teaching the woman of Samaria, Jesus revealed the meaning of true worship, showing that there is also false worship. He explained that true worship is not about mountains, places, or physical locations, because God is omnipresent and hears prayers from anywhere. Today many people are turning worship into idol worship by believing that certain places alone make God hear them, yet Jesus said true worshippers must worship the Father in spirit and in truth. He further taught that God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. Since God created us in His image, we are also spiritual beings living in physical bodies. The part created in the image of God is our spirit, therefore worship must be spirit-to-Spirit. Matthew 15 explains that many worship God with their mouths while their hearts are far from Him. God desires worship that comes genuinely from the heart. Prayer is not about shouting or outward appearance, but about sincerity and meaning it from within. Hannah prayed silently, yet her prayer touched the heart of God because her spirit spoke deeply to Him. Hebrews 11 verse 6 reminds us that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Apostle V Majere also taught that worshipping in truth involves knowing and reading the Word of God, because Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Reading the Word is a form of worship because the Word brings light into our lives. Joshua 1 verse 8 encourages believers to meditate on the Word day and night. He emphasized that believers must balance prayer with studying the Word. In Matthew 6, Jesus taught that giving and praying should be done secretly before God, not for the praise of people. True worship is about a heart that genuinely seeks and honors God.
