Walking in the Authority of the Crucified King
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 28:18), Jesus secured that authority through the cross. At Calvary, He overcame sin, death, and every spiritual power that stands against us (Colossians 2:15). His resurrection became our proof that the ultimate battle had been won. The authority He holds is not positional, it is purchased authority, bought with His own blood.
If we trust in His authority, we are called to walk in it. Jesus didn’t just get authority for Himself; He shares its power and protection with those who belong to Him. When we submit to Him, we are stepping into the spiritual victory He has already accomplished. Luke 10:19, Jesus gave us the Power and Authority to overcome all the powers of the enemy.”
Daniel knew what it meant to live under God’s authority while facing earthly threats, he chose faithfulness to God’s eternal kingdom, and he was thrown into the lions’ den for his loyalty, he experienced a miraculous deliverance because he trusted in a Sovereign whose authority overrides every earthly decree and even the natural world. The angel told Daniel, “God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions” (Daniel 6:22). Daniel walked in God-given authority because he first trusted in God’s Authority.
Trusting Jesus’ authority is more than just believing He has it—it means believing it is for us and with us. When we pray in His Jesus Christ Name, we resist the devil, and stand for truth in a hostile culture, or face our own “lions’ dens,” we are not operating in our own strength. We are walking in the authority of the One who conquered the death. We stand on the victory of the cross.
Walk not in fear, but in faith. Live not from a place of defeat, but from a position of victory. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you (Ephesians 1:19-20). Trust His authority—and step forward to walk in it.
