*HEBREWS 6 REFLECTIONS*

1️⃣ *Go Beyond the Basics.* Every believer should be grounded in the basics of the Christian faith. Beyond that, however, one has to advance to deeper understanding of the Word of God. The best way to achieve this could include practicing the basics you already know and sharing with others what you already understand. Many make the mistake of shying away from sharing because of some things they do not yet understand. There is never a time when anyone understands everything. Sharing what you already understand helps you deepen your understanding and appreciation of the truth. God desires for you and I to move beyond the basics.

2️⃣ *Backsliding Worsens One's Spiritual Condition.* When a person who has known the truth of God's Word backsides, it is not always easy for them to bounce back to walk again in the light. A person who has never been a Christian is in a much better position than a Christian brother or sister who is backslidden. It can be much harder to bring them back. Because of how COVID-19 has affected us in different ways, many Christians are reluctant to come back to Church. Many are at the risk of backsliding, just like the Hebrews mentioned in this letter.

3️⃣ *Do not Take God's Grace for Granted.* The grace and love of God are like rain that refreshes the land. Some land will produce good crops, much to the satisfaction of its tiller. But some other land will produce only thorns and briers using the same rain. The grace of God supplied to His people is the same, but what kind of ground are you? What crops are you producing? Good crops or wild grapes, thorns and thistles? Do not give up on doing good.

4️⃣ *God's Promises are Sure.* The same God who made a promise to Abraham has given us a promise and assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ out Lord. He cannot and will not lie. In Jesus we have God's assurance of eternal life. This hope is likened to an anchor that secures a ship in the stomy waves of life. With all of life's fears, uncertainties, doubts, vexations and anxieties, we have an anchor in Jesus Christ. May He be your anchor today.

🙏Dear Lord, thank you for the hope of salvation and eternal life in Jesus my Lord and Saviour. May this hope be my anchor. I'm prone to wander Lord I feel it. Prone leave the God I love. Oh Lord, here's my heart, take and seal it. Seal it for your courts above. In your name I pray. Amen.

Today we would like to thank God as Chirundu Seventh Day Adventist church. It's really a great day for us. We have been ordained to be a Church. Thank you Pastor Gwaze hope you travelled safe back.

*A Blessed Week*


*HAVE YOU BEEN TESTED?*

🔑 *KEY VERSES MATTHEW 4:1 "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil."*

*JOB 11:1 But put forth thy hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face."*

A *Test* is a procedure done on something to establish its quality, performance, or reliability. Tests enable somebody to see and know how reliable something is, and how much force of strain to apply on it just as the Bible says, *...God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it"* (1 Cor 10:13).

The devil often tests the strength, or healthiness of the immune system of our Christian faith with various temptations to see if we can succumb to his ill-traps, defecting before God.

Jesus Christ was tested of his faith by Satan immediately after completing his forty days, and forty nights fasting in the wilderness. Jesus responded by shaming the devil with strong resistance that displayed fortified anchor in the word of God. Satan could not corrupt Jesus spiritual immune system by his cunning tests.

In Job 11 we also see the devil testing the healthiness of Job's faith when he argues with God that Job's faith health can deteriorate, making him defect against God if all of his material possessions are taken away from him. Indeed Satan succeeded in stripping Job of his wealth, children, and the support of his wife and friends, but that did not contaminate the immune system of his faith health. The test only helped strengthen Job's faith health, and commitment to God, who in the end *"restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before"* (Job 42:10).

When you are not yet tested it means you are not yet on the level of great spiritual faith and health that gives the devil sleepless nights. These tests help strengthen our faith, spiritual battle skills, and commitment in the Lord God. Don't give up your faith because of the tests, even if they come through the very people you are close to, you need to shame the devil behind them,by charging, *"Get thee behind me Satan!"* (Matthew 16:23) as Jesus did before Peter.

*May the grace of our Lord God be with you always.✍️ *NOTE: Temptations are examination tests for our faith. My prayer for you is that may God strengthen you and may He meet you at your point of needs and bless you abundantly. Happy Sabbath and may God also keep you safe from the Covid pandemic!*
