CHIREDZI CHRISTIAN COLLEGE โ€“ CHAPLAIN'S MESSAGE
International Day Against Drug Abuse โ€“ 26 June 2026

Theme: Your Future Is Too Valuable to Be Destroyed

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19โ€“20

Good morning, students. Today, as the world observes the International Day Against Drug Abuse, God reminds us that our bodies are His temple. Every decision we make either builds or destroys that temple. Drugs may promise excitement, escape, acceptance, or relief, but they steal far more than they give. They rob people of their health, peace, relationships, purpose, and dreams.

As young people, you are full of potential. God has placed gifts, talents, and a calling within each one of you. Don't allow temporary pressure from friends, social media, or life's challenges to lead you into choices that can have lifelong consequences. Real strength is not found in following the crowdโ€”it is found in having the courage to say "No" when something will harm your future.

Remember that Jesus came to give us life in abundance. When you feel stressed, lonely, or overwhelmed, don't run to harmful substances. Run to God. Speak to your parents, teachers, chaplain, counsellor, or a trusted adult. Asking for help is a sign of wisdom, not weakness.

Today, choose life. Choose purity. Choose purpose. Protect the body God has entrusted to you, because your future is worth far more than any temporary high.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us with purpose. Give us the wisdom to make choices that honour You and the courage to resist every temptation that leads to drug and substance abuse. Protect every student, strengthen those who are struggling, and help us to be examples of hope and righteousness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Have a blessed and drug-free day.

As we come to the end of another week, I want to encourage you with a simple but powerful truth: God's best work often requires patience and faith.

We live in a world that wants everything immediately. We want quick results, instant success, and immediate answers to our prayers. Yet God often works through seasons of waiting. The farmer plants a seed but does not harvest the next day. He waits patiently, trusting that growth is taking place beneath the soil even when he cannot see it.

Many of us are praying for breakthroughs in our studies, families, careers, ministries, and personal lives. Sometimes it may seem as if nothing is happening. But faith is believing that God is working even when we cannot see the evidence.

Consider Joseph in the Bible. God gave him a dream, but before the dream was fulfilled, he experienced betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment. Yet he remained faithful and patient. In God's perfect timing, Joseph rose to become a ruler in Egypt. The delay was not God's denial; it was God's preparation.

Students, be patient with your academic journey. Every lesson learned, every assignment completed, and every challenge overcome is preparing you for your future.

Staff members, be patient in your service. The seeds you plant today in the lives of young people will bear fruit in years to come.
Remember: Faith keeps believing, and patience keeps waiting. When faith and patience work together, God's promises are fulfilled.

As we enter the weekend, do not give up. Trust God's timing. Continue praying, continue working hard, continue believing. The God who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it.

May the Lord strengthen your faith, increase your patience, and fill your heart with hope.

Have a blessed and productive Friday.

Hope for Broken Families

๐Ÿ“– โ€œHe heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.โ€ Psalm 147:3

Family challenges affect emotional well-being, relationships, and personal development. Many individuals grow up experiencing conflict, neglect, divorce, abuse, addiction, poverty, or emotional instability within their homes. These painful experiences often leave emotional wounds that continue into adulthood. Yet God remains a healer and restorer even in broken family situations.

Healing within families may require forgiveness, counseling, honest communication, accountability, and patience. Some relationships may take time to rebuild, while others require healthy boundaries for safety and recovery. Godโ€™s grace provides hope for restoration, healing, and new beginnings. No family situation is beyond His ability to bring comfort, wisdom, and transformation.

Application
Pray for healing and restoration within your family relationships. Be willing to take small steps toward peace and reconciliation where possible.

๐Ÿ™ Father, bring healing to hurting families and restore broken relationships. Comfort those affected by family pain and guide homes toward peace, love, and stability. Amen.
