Sunday of Salt Part 2 – “The Revelation of the Covenant of Salt”

Most “Salt of the Earth” sermons break it into 3 roles:
- *Preservative*: In Bible times salt kept meat from rotting. Christians are called to _slow down moral decay_ in families, workplaces, culture. We preserve godly values by how we live and what we stand for.
- *Flavor/Enhancer*: Salt makes food better. Our lives should make the world “taste” God’s goodness. We create thirst for Jesus by our joy, love, and integrity.

*3. Warning: Don’t lose your saltiness*
Salt can be contaminated and become useless. If we blend in so much that the world can’t tell we’re different, we lose our function. Jesus says that kind of salt is “thrown out”.
*How do we stay salty?* Stay close to Jesus — His character in us is what seasons the world.

*4. Practical Application — Where to be salt*
