Text: Revelation 3:1-3 ESV
And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: 'The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. "'I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. [2] Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. [3] Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.
Title: Building Ranks/ Rebuilding Ranks
Rank - a spiritual standing, or position; your altitude in the Spirit
The mandate of Christianity is to continually grow, ascend, transcend and increase in Rank
There are wars that will require rank in the spirit...
The Spirit world functions on Ranks.
We are not focusing on the seen, but the unseen, we use what is seen inorder to process ourselves into higher Ranks in the Spirit.
Cornelius used his gifts to transcend into Ranks.
Don't allow your allow your relationship as a boy or girl, to diminish your value in the Spirit.
Whenever you come to church place your focus on building ranks
John was in the Spirit - Enabling him to access Ranks and see the unseen even without eyes.
Can you imagine he could not stand the presence of Jesus whom he used to be close to during His earthly days.
We must come to the understanding that the Jesus whom we read in the Bible has been given a new name (elavated).
Hence we must do whatever we do with Godly reverence and fear.
The same Jesus whom in one instance is a Lamb, is also the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
The same Jesus who is recorded as a suffering servant is King of kings and Lord of lords
The same Jesus who is Mediator is also Judge.
However ,John because of the elationship he had built with Christ, is given strength to stand in His presence
There shall come a time when your Strength shall proceed from the relationship you have build with Christ in your Christian journey.
*Lets now take a look at the instruction given to John for the church at Sardis*
_"I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. [2] Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. [3] Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you."_
It's a great tragedy to have a reputable name on earth, whilst in the Spirit we don't.
To be rendered alive, yet the kingdom sees dead people.
This is the message for the church today.
"strengthen what remains and is about to die"
What is it that is dying in your life today?
Is it the first love you had for God, the love for the brethren, the zeal to serve, the zeal for intercession.
"Rebuild your Rank in the Spirit"
