And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.
2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,
3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.
5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.Nehem 2:1-5.
In the story above we meet Nehemiah a Man who feared the Lord, who all of a sudden became so sad because of the bad situation of Jerusalem walls where he and his forefathers belonged, and had a heavy burden about it to an extent that it became evident even to the king whom he was serving, thank God that the king finally noticed it and released him from his service so that he could go and rectify it or do something that will lift the burden from his Shoulders.
This is what the true believers of sons and daughters in the house should do when they notice that there are walls in their spiritual home that now lie in ruins, they should posses the same attitude Nehemiah had concerning his home Jerusalem.Nehemiah didn't forsake Jerusalem because it's walls were in ruins,Nehemiah didn't abundon his home Jerusalem because it's walls lied in ruins and he worshipped from afar in Babylony worse he was serving in the palace he had all the food, the comfort and the luxury he needed, but all that meant nothing to him except to see the City of his fore Father's restored back.l like the attitude of this son.
