*Bereavement announcement*

The members of the Gregorian Choral Choir are heart‑broken to share the tragic news that our beloved soloist, tenor singer, and choir master, Thembalethu Ncube who was admitted at Mpilo Hospital.
passed away today.

Thembalethu Ncube was the radiant voice that lifted our harmonies, the guiding hand that shaped our music, and a cherished friend whose passion for Gregorian chant inspired everyone who had the privilege of singing beside him. His dedication, warmth, and unwavering commitment to the choir will forever echo in the sacred walls where we gather.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who loved him. In this time of sorrow, we ask for your thoughts, prayers, and respect for the privacy of those mourning his loss.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his musical legacy continue to resonate in every chant we raise.

ROBIN FISHER'S ZIMBABWE VISIT: EMPOWERING YOUTHS AND COMMUNITIES

Robin Fisher, a representative of Ambulances for Africa, recently concluded a visit to Zimbabwe, where she engaged with various communities, organizations, and stakeholders. Her visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration, empowerment, and development.

During her trip, Fisher met with the women's volleyball team, coached by Father James Batsirai, which is preparing for the national championships. She assisted the team with registration fees, demonstrating her commitment to supporting local talent.

Fisher also visited Saint Luke's Mission Hospital in Lupane, where she interacted with the local authority, Mr. Hadebe, Chief Executive of Kusile Rural District, visited the hospital, and assessed the need for improved infrastructure, particularly reliable ambulances. She emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare facilities and efficient medical transportation services.

Water scarcity was another critical issue discussed , they highlighted the need for self-sustaining water solutions to ensure a reliable supply of clean water for the community.

In addition, Fisher visited AMR School, where the Christian Youth Volunteers Association Trust is implementing a project called "Smart Agriculture project “ This initiative features a greenhouse and piggery project providing students with hands-on experience in agriculture and sustainability. The school is utilizing pigs as a form of sustainability, with students actively involved in rearing these animals.

Furthermore, Robin Fisher, in collaboration with the Christian Youth Volunteers Trust Association, discussed plans to establish a sports academy. This initiative aims to provide young people with opportunities for sports development, training, and mentorship, promoting holistic growth and empowerment in Matebeleland North Kusile Rural District.

“You may not be able to help everyone, but by making a difference in one person's life, you're creating a ripple effect. That person can then help another, and together, we can uplift and empower an entire nation” said Fisher.

Fisher's visit underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in driving positive change and empowering communities. Her initiatives and engagements have laid the groundwork for sustainable development and improved livelihood

On the19th of January, over 200 Catholic Young Adults gathered for their opening Mass at Our Lady of Assumption in Gwanda. Rev Fr Ngwarai celebrated the Mass, delivering a powerful homily on Hope and encouraging the young people to choose friends who bring them closer to Christ.

The event also featured a thought-provoking talk on Mental Health by the Catholic University of Zimbabwe, followed by insightful presentations from various Adult Guilds and Associations.

We're proud of our young adults for showing maturity and engaging with the presentations. Special thanks to the Adult Associations Leaders for sharing their wisdom. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this gathering.
