Celebrating World Adventurer Day at Emganwini West SDA Church
Emganwini, 17 May 2025– Emganwini West Seventh-day Adventist Church was vibrant with joy and spiritual energy as it joined the global Adventist community in commemorating World Adventurer Day under the theme: “Travel with Faith.”
This special day honored the church’s youngest members—children aged 0 to 9 years—celebrating their spiritual journey, talents, and potential. The day unfolded as a beautiful display of faith in motion, led by the very little ones we often think too small to lead.
In an uplifting role reversal, Adventurers led all the services of the day, delighting the congregation with their active participation and understanding of Scripture.
The Bible reading segment was a particularly touching moment, with Adventurers offering chapter summaries from Genesis 25 to 31, showing not only their comprehension but their commitment to engaging with God's Word.
The Adventurers delivered lessons in their age-appropriate groups, including Little Lambs, Eager Beavers, and Busy Bees, each offering lessons to the church through recitations, and dramatizations. These lessons spoke to the simplicity yet depth of faith, drawing smiles and tears of joy from the audience.
It would be unjust to leave out this amazing fact in this article. The afternoon session was dynamically hosted by two enthusiastic Pathfinders, Musa Matsiya and Patience Gumbo, who served as MCs and guided the flow of presentations with humor, grace, and leadership. The children showcased their talents in music, drama, and recitations, leaving the congregation both amazed and proud. The children's choir blessed the church with more than 2 songs, being led by Nanzel Mabhena, their choir master. And guess what, a new amazing group of young girls is dawning in the church. It answers to the name Sacred Heart, and they also shocked the church with their balancing parts and melodic voices.
The event concluded with a jaw dropping closing parade, dignified and joyful, led by Marshals Sindiso Jayden Dokwane and Michael Mabuto. Their presence symbolized discipline, celebration, and the shared pride of an entire congregation standing behind its children.
World Adventurer Day at Emganwini West SDA was more than a celebration—it was a reminder. A reminder that children are not just the future of the church; they are a vital part of its present. As they “travel with faith,” the church journeys with them, committed to walking beside these young souls every step of the way.
