Title: If you can't serve it, you can't have it.
Scripture reading:
1 Kings 19:19-21
2 Kings 2:7-14
Today we will talk about the plan of God in our lives. I believe everyone of us has been called.
When God is calling it means we have to leave our things, our territory, surroundings, habits; then God will start to talk to you and direct you. When Elisha was called he had to leave the authority he had in the field and had to be a servant of God.
I want to tell you that we have been called to serve in the body of Christ.
Again, God's purpose will always have a representative. It can be you or me..
When we see also the story of Elijah we learn that God's work can be transferred across generations, it always has successors.
From Moses to Joshua
From Elijah to Elisha
From David to Solomon
From Jesus to us.
Go will always use someone for His glory.
If you are a giver,singer, teacher etc dont think that you are indispensable. I want to tell you that there is no Elijah that is irreplaceable and there is no Elisha who is self-appointed.
The work of God is not flesh at work. It is the Spirit's work, the marvelous God's doing.
When God calls us, He imparts this Spirit. This is the Spirit of love, of obedience, of forgiveness. Lets shun away the works of the flesh.
I want to tell you that one touch from God can change your life. Look at Elisha, he was busy at his father's field and he had to abandon everything following the called from God.
Can imagine the pressure he had to undergo, bidding farewell to his parents and frends and his life. This is because when you are called you leave all thats in the past and pursue the calling.
The other thing, that kills the plan of God in our lives is our expectations. As long as our expectations are not kingdom minded we will never be aligned to the plan of God.
Kindly make a decision, whom do i follow, whom do i serve.
When God called Elisha, He did not directly talk to Elisha. He talked about Elisha to Elijah. Even today, God maynot have spoken directly to you, but He has spoken a word about you. Connect with the Spirit and recall what He has said about you.
This will position you to what He want you to serve under.
There are only three things that are important to Christians:
1. Prayer
2. Faith
3. Believe
These 3 only have the power to take us through.
As I am about to close, i want to talk to all of us who have called, called into leadership not only at church but at homes and everywhere else.
As leaders you have to be stable in the House of God. Unstable people are porous vessels and God will never be Jehovah Jireh to us just because all the blessings will leak off. Let's repent and mend all the pores. This will make God to trust us with His blessings.
The annointing that you serve, is the anointing you recieve.
If you serve God faithfully He will be faithful to you.
