✝️Mid-Week Devotion 26-05-21
Title: God's Mercies
Text: Psalm 118

Ogive thanks unto the Lord for he is good and his mercy endures forever.

This psalm is attributed to David; that he was giving thanks to God for all he had done for him in his life. Giving thanks to God for his mercies that he had shown to him in his life. This is so because through that mercy which God had shown to him, David is or was so confident that God will defend him against any and all the foes that he might face in his life. God will provide for him and God will protect him.

So this is the same with us dear brothers and sisters; we need also to praise our God and give him all the thanks because we are what we are today because of his mercies. It was not by our will, might, knowledge, strength or wisdom but it was by his mercies that got us this far. So we say Ebenezer; this is how far the Lord has taken us. So we need to give him all the praise and thanksgiving.

Again like David we should not fear anything because God will provide for us, God will protect us and God will defend us.

So dear brothers and sisters let us give thanks unto the Lord for his is good and his mercy endures forever. Amen.

Let us pray:
Father we thank you for your mercies that never end, they are new every morning and great is your faithfulness. But above all we continue to give you all the praise and thanksgiving because despite all the calamities, difficulties and hardships we face in our lives as individuals, as families or as a country, you continue to provide for us. So today as we go on with our daily duties may you continue to guide us, protect us and bless us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
