Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God.

Psalms 20:7

What do you trust in? Are you relying on a certain political party? An investment? Your education? Savings? All of these are our modern day “chariots and horses.” God shows us that it is foolish to boast in these things. Let’s be people who boast in God’s power and ability at work in our lives!

Did you know that you are the church? You are commissioned by Jesus to preach the Good News to everyone. It’s not just the job of your pastor or the staff of your church to grow the family of God. Every Christian is empowered through the Holy Spirit to tell others about the love of God.

God wants us to live peaceful lives. God hates the insecurity and fear evil brings to our lives. Apart of being a Christ follower is being a peace seeker. Make a list of how you can be an agent of peace in your community. Do you feel moved to make amends with neighbors? Co-workers? Family members? Maybe you feel called to speak against a particular injustice? It could be that you are nudged to finally are agree to volunteer in your local church. Make steps to be a peacemaker today!

Apart from the Lord we are condemned to death and an eternity separated from God’s goodness. The only way we can become a part of the light is to surrender our lives over to it. There are no pure and good people apart from God at work in their lives. Jesus is our only path to finding a good life.

How many of us struggle with loving money? It’s a common problem in our affluent culture. In order to keep up with the lives we are told we need to be living, more money always seems to be necessary. Where does all this striving and wanting lead us? Unhappiness fills us when we constantly are searching for more. Learning how to be content with what we have been given is a gift and leads to a more peaceful and happy life.

The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man's redemption in the death, burial and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

The word "gospel" literally means "good news." But to truly comprehend how good this news is, we must first understand the bad news. As a result of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:6), every part of man"his mind, will, emotions and flesh"have been corrupted by sin. Because of man's sinful nature, he does not and cannot seek God. He has no desire to come to God and, in fact, his mind is hostile toward God (Romans 8:7). God has declared that man's sin dooms him to an eternity in hell, separated from God. It is in hell that man pays the penalty of sin against a holy and righteous God. This would be bad news indeed if there were no remedy.

But in the gospel, God, in His mercy, has provided that remedy, a substitute for us"Jesus Christ"who came to pay the penalty for our sin by His sacrifice on the cross. This is the essence of the gospel which Paul preached to the Corinthians. In 1 Corinthians 15:2-4, he explains the three elements of the gospel"the death, burial and resurrection of Christ on our behalf. Our old nature died with Christ on the cross and was buried with Him. Then we were resurrected with Him to a new life (Romans 6:4-8). Paul tells us to "hold firmly" to this true gospel, the only one which saves. Believing in any other gospel is to believe in vain. In Romans 1:16-17, Paul also declares that the true gospel is the "power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" by which he means that salvation is not achieved by man's efforts, but by the grace of God through the gift of faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Because of the gospel, through the power of God, those who believe in Christ (Romans 10:9) are not just saved from hell. We are, in fact, given a completely new natu

We are made for action. When we become static, our lives start to fall apart. When we stop moving forward our health declines, our relationships suffer, our bank accounts can’t survive, and our mental health deteriorates. Believers, forward motion is required to follow the narrow way that the Bible describes as leading us towards Heaven. What are you doing in this season to move closer to your Creator

Sunday Bread of the Day

"Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end."

Psalms 119:33

Teach me thy statutes, not the mere words, but the way of applying them to myself. God, by his Spirit, gives a right understanding. But the Spirit of revelation in the word will not suffice, unless we have the Spirit of wisdom in the heart. God puts his Spirit within us, causing us to walk in his statutes. The sin here prayed against is covetousness. Those that would have the love of God rooted in them, must get the love of the world rooted out; for the friendship of the world is enmity with God. Quicken me in thy way; to redeem time, and to do every duty with liveliness of spirit. Beholding vanity deadens us, and slackens our pace; a traveller must not stand gazing upon every object that presents itself to his view. The promises of God's word greatly relate to the preservation of the true believer. When Satan has drawn a child of God into worldly compliances, he will reproach him with the falls into which he led him. Victory must come from the cross of Christ. When we enjoy the sweetness of God's precepts, it will make us long for more acquaintance with them. And where God has wrought to will, he will work to do.

Jeremiah 17:10

“I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the results of his deeds.

It is true that there is the wickedness in our hearts which we ourselves are not aware of and do not suspect to be there . It is common mistake among children of men to think themselves , their own hearts at least , a great deal better than they really are. The heart , the conscience of man , in his corrupt and fallen state is decietful above all things. it is subtle and false , it is apt to supplant, it is that from which Jacob had his name supplanter. It calls evil good and good evil, it puts false colours upon things and cries peace to those to whom peace does not belong.
The heart cheats men into their own ruin
Let's look into one in marriage and hear their speech words from the heart when devorcing
-I never loved you
-I don't know what made me to marry a person like you
-You are not of my class
-That's the biggest mistake I have done in my life.
But God observes and descens the heart and he judges of overt act by the heart.

1 Thessalonians 5:9

After reading through the Old Testament people often mistake God as being quick to anger. This is further from the truth. God saved us by offering up His son as a sacrifice. He did this so that we can have a personal relationship with Him. He hears your prayers and responds to your heart with love. He showers you with blessings and brings healing to your life. Our God chose to save us out of love, not anger. If you see God as an angry God, take a closer look
