"ARE YOU THE ONLY VISITOR IN JERUSALEM WHO DOES NOT KNOW THE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED THERE IN THESE DAYS?"
The Passover is Over and it is the afternoon of the resurrection Sunday. Two of them are walking from Jerusalem (to keep the Passover) to Emmaus, about 11 km northwest of Jerusalem.
As they are walking, complaints are issuing out of their mouths about how cruel the Jews were in killing Jesus Christ, a prophet mighty in deed before God and man and the one they had hoped was going to be the redeemer of Israel.
While they are thus discussing and talking with each other, Jesus himself draws near and walks with them but their eyes are prevented from recognizing him. He joins the conversation and asks "what are you talking about?" They tell him, "we're talking about Jesus of Nazareth." "What happened to him?" He asked.
"Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him, 'Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?' " Luke 24:13-18.
Cleopas and his friend supposed that Jesus was a visitor in Jerusalem because he too was coming from Jerusalem like them.
Disclaimer to their supposition:
JESUS WAS NOT A VISITOR IN JERUSALEM, RATHER, HE WAS THE REASON FOR THE VISITORS IN JERUSALEM. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
