IT IS FINISHED
03.04.26 Good Friday.
Good Friday is called "good" because it commemorates the voluntary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which Christians believe paid for all humanity's sins, enabling forgiveness and offering eternal life. Despite the brutal, dark nature of the crucifixion, it is seen as victory over sin and death rather than a defeat, culminating in the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Good Friday has the following significance:
1. The Ultimate Sacrifice: Jesus is believed to have willingly suffered and died to bear the sins of humanity.
2. Reconciliation: It marks the day humanity was reconciled to God, paving the way for salvation.
3. Victory over Sin: Christians believe Christ’s sacrifice defeated the power of sin and death.
The Shepherd based his sermon on JOHN 19 reading on verse 30 as the text word,
"So when Jesus had received the sour w**e, He said, It is finished! And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit."
Bible reading: MARK 15:22-39.
Message: Jesus Christ sacrificed His life all humankind, both living and dead, to allow us to have perfect fellowship with God.
