DIAMOND CELEBRATIONS GEAR UP

NDOLA South and Ndola North districts today 0/08/25 combined together to commemorate 60 years diamond jubilee, the existence of the Boys Brigade movement in Zambia.
During the same function Reverend Fredson Solomon Silungwe retired minister was bestowed with an engraved shield and medal as recognition by the Brigade fraternity for his selfless service rendered to the movement as chaplain in the congregations he has served.
2nd Ndola company where activities took place was a hive of activities.
The activities took place to the build up of the national event which takes place in Lusaka on August 16th 2025.
Both district patrons Mr Kephus Katongo Lt (South) and Mr Adams Zulu Lt graced the gathering.
The activities which were lined up made the gatherings in solutions through out the day.
The order of service lifted high the spirits of the attendees which attracted members from all battalions who came to witness the function.
In all the speeches boys and officers have been called to maintain the highest discipline and obedience during their discharge of duty.
The occasion was too spiced by combined brass bands who sung through out the program.
2nd Ndola company was one of the first companies formed for indigenous Zambians then.
Reformed Church in Zambia Reverend Chimba Chingola the district chaplain for South in his vibrant homily sermon thanked the members for their faithfulness in Christ Jesus and challenged them to remain steadfast as they proclaim the word of God in society.
In his fire conclusion message implored all to uplift the name God wherever the word of God was mentioned.
The service was too attended by Rev Dr. Mwape Chilombo Lt, National vice chairman Mr Samuel Mhango Lt national Public Relations Convenor Mr Cliff Ndhulovu Lt.and other notable leaders which included patrons from many companies.
One boy present applauded the entire brigade leadership for taking the brigade to where it is now.
What was noted was that many didn't leave the celebrations because the spirit of God enveloped many souls.

NDOLA North district Boys Brigade kicked off the 60 years diamond celebration jubilee with a March past awareness from Ndola Teaching Hospital to United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Hillcrest congregation.
The march past was flagged off by the district patron Dr. Adam Zulu who called on the general membership to uphold the highest self-discipline and obedience amongst themselves.

In his speech delivered on this big day before national gathering in Lusaka in August, he emphasised the need for the organization to nurture the boys in environment suitable and God fearing society.
Scores of the members gathered at the function that saw the happiness in boys and officers through out the peaceful four kilometers walk.
"We are gathered here to commemorate the solid 60 years existence of the brigade in Zambia," he said.
The organization plays a pivot role in shaping, improving the livelihood of boys in society. He also pointed out that joining the brigade in infancy stage, gradually improves the living standards of the boy to fully fledged and matured person.
The function was graced by a combined brass band from Nkwazi and Hillcrest respectively.
The patron who also participated in the walk together with the immediate past Training Convenor Mr Kingsley Sikasote Lt, accompanied by the district chairman Mr James Mwila Lt and his entire leadership. Upon reaching at Hillcrest UCZ. The district chairman implored the boys to aim high at school so that they ganered impressive results.
The nation of today need educated people to take up key positions in government portfolios.
The patron in concluding the march past called on the leadership to shepherd well the flock and look after them. Lead a good example to community by celebrating 60 years of Boys Brigade existence.
One boy when intervied said he felt excellent as his body relaxed easily after a walk.
"This is an exercise to loosen the bones which was good for our bodies," he echoed.
The district was now looking forward for national event to be taken in Lusaka - August.

NEW COMPANY BORN NDOLA NORTH.

A NEW Boys' Brigade company was enrolled on Sunday 4th May, 2025 in Ndola North district.
"With the number enrolled the district chairman Mr. James Mwila Lt expressed happiness and wished the company the very best of lucky to grow from strength to strength," he said.
He quickly emphasised on the issue of junkies in society to desist from engaging in illicit activities.
He reminded the congregation to support the group and called on them to live a Christ like life.
The company to operate officially first the bishops, Robert Sikazwe and Moses Musonda inducted the Rev. Josephine Katwamba Kolala to chaplainship who later officiated the enrollment. She called on the boys and officers to remain steadfast and committed the programs of the brigade always.
The company enrolled 18 junior, 12 company boys and six officers respectively which included the patron.
Numerically the company takes the 73rd Ndola of First Christian Oneness Church International in Ndola's Chifubu area.
The enrolment was attended by several leaders at battalion and district level. To enhance the progress of the company. Local leadership was urged to engage in activities lined up by the brigade.
District leaders who attended the function called upon the entire brigade fraternity to come forward and give morale and financial support to the new company. They were encouraged to work with the church and support each other as they execute their noble duties.

NDOLA UPS THEIR PREPS COPPERBELT REGIONAL GALA

AS we close to this fantastic regional gala, the organising committee is not leaving any stone unturned.
Accordingly the reports reaching the Public Relations development 85 percent of work has been done by today of this story.
Our fervent prayer is that all things go well as being planned. Preparations are going on well according to schedule.
The appeal is for all participants to concentrate and come victors in all the sports disciplines lined up for grabs.
All battalions on the Copperbelt need to be represented and produce the Samukonga athlete.
Boys Brigade intends to hold the event successfully to impress all.
All is set for this memorable event to be hosted by Ndola. The environment is said to be conducive and peaceful. Those coming outside Ndola should feel at home and conduct themselves in a very proper way to stir the image of the Brigade high.
Mr James Mwila Lt, the district chairman for Ndola North has categorically indicated to this author that that working as a team things will go as planned.
"In this noble cause God will superintendent in all we are preparing and make the event successful," he echored.
Challenges could be there however, team work being exhibited would see us through.
The event starts on 23rd to 25th August 2024. The venues for the same is St. Andrews high school ground and Kalewa barracks grounds.
The other logistics were being worked on to ensure the success of the event. The chair has appealed to all battalions to pay participation fees before the official opening. To also lessen the burden of looking for funds at the last minute.

FIRST AID WORKSHOP ON

THE long awaited First Aid workshop slated for Chifubu Euphrathar Church will be actualised this Saturday 29/06/24.

According to information reaching us Mr. Mutale Chitoshi the workshop adjutant said all is set for the workshop and people need to come in numbers and capture the necessary skills in first Aid.
"We believe in empowering people with vital information so that they were equipped to face any challenges that come the way," he said.
We expect people from North and South districts and certificates will be given to those who will attend the course.
The brigade across the country have been mandated to hold galas in their respective jurisdictions to offer the necessary knowledge suitable for qualified personnel. The officers and non commissioned officers no exceptional but to attend without fail.
The program has been lined up in the manner that would make the full day enjoyable outing.
"With the above all officers should attend and utilize the knowledge to be acquired in their respective companies," he emphasized.
The material to be given at the end of the course will attract a K1 per A4 paper. The package to be handed out would be a permanent data in our drawers.
The facilitators include (1) Dr. Malango Chuza (MD). (2) De Rob gold medalist in first Aid
(3) Mutale Chitoshi gold medalist in first Aid and
(4) Namwila Siwale registered nurse.
The course being undertaken is full of qualified persons within the Boys' Brigade.
To wind it all Participation fees is pegged at K70.00 each person. The program runs from 0830 hrs to 1630 hrs it would be graced by Chifubu Battalion Chaplain Rev. Bishop Ilunga.

In another development the executive secretary said Lusaka has acquired an office of the brigade squared at 20x35 plot number 60A in libala stage 3, Kaaze street.

The new offices were commissioned by Reverend fr. Mwale of Anglican church on 9th March 2024 at a colourful event attended by the immediate past national executive members.

The Executive Secretary explained that in the near future they intend to secure yet another place to embark on training facilities to benefit it's general membership.

"We want the brigade to be equipped with current skilled knowledge not to be left behind, " he said.

Lusaka was vast and the membership was growing hence, to think outside the box to empower many with sustainable skills to mitigate vices which ruin the society the brigade not exceptional.

With the determination noted in the leadership in Lusaka this pirot project outlined would succeed with hardwork.

Mr. Yambala Sikazwe Lt hinted that since the membership was steadily increasing it was imperative for the leadership within to float alot of workable ideas to advance Christ Jesus kingdom unwaveringly.

With the newly elected leadership from the recent council he had hope that the movement would prosper to greater heights. He wished them well and good health as they discharge their duties of the National leadership.

He emphasized that the headquarters in Ndola would be collaborating explicitly well with Lusaka colleagues.

AS at the end of 31st MARCH 2024 a successful number of boys totalling 25,568 had either rededicated or enrolled for this year, the number was expected to go up by end of April.
This is the official information released by the Brigade Secretary Mr Yambala Sikazwe Lt.

4,721 Officers, 363 patrons, 356 Chaplains, 95 companies inked their membership to the movement as at last Sunday in Match 2024.

The Executive Secretary said the numbers have increased tremendously for this year and hoped the trend to continue.

According to him he emphasized on working hard and double the number in all disciplines. Viz boys and officers.

He said the governing constitution stipulates that renewals and Enrollment of members were done within three months in any beginning of the year.

The ES explained implored companies to start planning their Enrollment and rededication services well in advance to beat the deadline of 31st March of each year.

"We are eager to do our best to uplift the living standards of our members," he echoed.

THE first quarter District Officers Meeting for Ndola North set pace on 12.05.24 with an impressive attendance of 116 officers and 17 apologies.

The district secretary JoJo announced this yesterday and encouraged those who missed to be available in the next meeting to be hosted by Chifubu Battalion. The date and venue to be advised later.

The district meeting deliberated on many issues affecting us and hoped to be implemented in the way resolved.
The chairman in his opening remarks called the meeting to be open and objective during deliberations.
"We are gathered in this manner to improve the living standards of a boy" he said.
The gathering was witnessed by glowing birthday wishes to those officers who add a year to their years from 1st January to 12th May 2024.
They were bestowed with a nice sizeable cake. Which all officers had a share piece of a cake. This occasion elated officers and hoped the same gesture to continue in future.
Recommendations from different disciplines of the Boys Brigade were presented for possible serious considerations to uplift the welfare of the movement in the district.
The patron Dr. Adams Zulu has called on the leadership within its jurisdiction to focus on projects that would be self sustaining but profitable making ventures.
He too welcomed the formation of a district cooperative.
"This cooperative you are contemplating embarking on needs serious approach and focus. It calls on hardwork and objectivity. He promised to support projects of viable nature. Mr Kamanga the other patron of the district was in attendance to make them known to various pending engagements to be undertaken by the District.
On the capacity building of human resource the Training Convernor Lewis Simutinta encouraged officers to ensure attained the required courses within their jurisdictions.
"Development of an organisation depends on skilled and learned human resource," he emphasized.
To sum it all Convernor Public Relations Jacob Chand cautioned Officers on the perpetual use of social media with deligency and respond to topics accustomed to not anyhow.
Officers in their high spirit mood ended the Meeting with a pledge to work hard towards improving the lives of boys in their respective communities. The district resolved to work closely with relevant organs to curtail the alcohol and drug abuse among boys.

DISTRICT LEADERS INDUCTED

NDOLA North District Boys' Brigade has a new district chaplain Rev. Ray Mumba of Grace Ministries church.

Even the district patrons were inducted yesterday at the same venue, Mr. Orleans Kamanga and Doctor Adams Zulu. The two have taken responsibilies to rejuvenate the operations of the district. The induction was attended by Resident bishop his grace the bishop Rev. Newton Chanda Mulenga who called the incoming chaplain for hard work within the district and beyond.
The brigade has become essential to society in dissemination of good morales to young boys instead of them becoming Junkies in communities. The brigade which anchors on building the capacity of outstanding behaviours among boys.
The same function saw the induction of district executive leaders who have a mammoth task of shaping up the organisation to standards acceptable to many people.
The induction was spiced by 1st Ndola brass band who kept on playing songs that lifted high most of people's spiritual attachment to Christ.
The guest of honour Kephas Katongo in his speech reminded the brigade members to know why they joined to serve Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour.
"To the members of the boys brigade. Let us know the reason we joined the organisation. To see salvation at the end it all." He said
