His Name Shall Be Called The Mighty God

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

In today's scripture, the Prophet Isaiah prophesied about a special child who would be born and the titles by which he would be addressed. One of the titles worth taking note of is " 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐝."

When the divinity of Christ is under discussion, Christians normally turn to the New Testament to make their argument. They quote the gospels, Paul, John or Peter.

Nothing wrong with this but let's not forget that, long before the gospels and the epistles came into existence, there stood the Prophet Isaiah, boldly proclaiming the divinity of the messiah, Jesus Christ.

In the Hebrew language, "The Mighty God" as presented in this text is "𝐄𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐛𝐛𝐨𝐫".

El Gibbor is the exact title referred exclusively to Yaweh the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

"The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob to the mighty God [El Gibbor]" (Isaiah 10:21)

We see that, The Mighty God, the LORD himself, is also this child, this son, who is born unto us.

Jesus is El Gibbor, the word who became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).

Jesus Christ is El Gibbor, the Son of the living God, God of God, Light of Light, true God of God, who dwelt among us.

To the very ends of the earth.
May God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings.

BORN FROM ABOVE

John 3:3
Jesus replied, "I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Are we born again Christians or born from above Christians?

Apart from Christianity there is no religion that requires a person to be born again. All the major religions of this world give instructions for their followers to obey but none among them claims to impart the new birth. Christianity stands alone in this claim, hallelujah!

To understand what it means to be born again, we need to carefully look at the Greek word translated "again" in John 3:3.

The Greek word translated "again" in most english Bibles is "anothen".

"Anothen" is a very interesting and revealing word. It means "from above" and not "again" as in "starting all over" or "something happening twice".

We find the same Greek word, "Anothen" used in John 3: 31;

He that cometh from above is above all....

From the Greek word "Anothen", we clearly understand that the new birth is a miraculous spiritual experience from above.

The new birth is a supernatural experience through which the Spirit of God imparts eternal life, the very nature of God to the human spirit thus making it possible for one to walk in the newness of life.

Being born from above is totally different from conversion, with which it is closely associated. It emphasizes God's action through his Spirit in giving new life; conversion on the other hand is the human act of turning from sin to righteousness, which accompanies regeneration.

It is the divine life of the Spirit of God imparted to a human spirit making it possible to live a new life of faith, righteousness and holiness. Without this experience from "above" it is impossible for one to see or experience the Kingdom of God.

The new birth from above marks the moment and the means of our coming into union with Christ's Spirit.

To the very ends of the earth.
May God bless you with great grace and many blessings.

Did You Receive The Holy Ghost When You
Believed?

Acts 19:2

He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit."

When the Apostle Paul came to Ephesus and found believers who had been under the ministry of Apollos, the first question he asked them was, "did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?"

Saint Paul would not have asked this question knowing fully well that believers receive the Spirit of Christ at conversion. Clearly from this passage we see that the Spirit was given to the twelve afterwards.

Receiving the Holy Spirit is the second most important experience after the new birth. Unfortunately many think they received the Spirit of God at the point of convention and therefore need not to pray for the infilling of the Spirit.

When you are born again, you are baptized into the Spirit of God. To be baptized means to immersed into something completely. For example, you can take a rubber ball, and immerse it into a large tub of water in such a way that the ball is totally covered by the water. This is what happens when you're born again - you're immersed, like a ball, into the Holy Spirit.

But you know, it's one thing for the ball to be covered by the water and a different thing entirely for it to be filled with and also covered by the water. For the ball to be filled, there must be a way for the water to enter in.

In the same way, when you're born again, you must receive the Holy Spirit into you and be filled with Him. I therefore urgent you to sincerely seek the LORD Jesus Christ for this remarkable and life changing experience.

To the very ends of the earth.
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings.

SHARE ALL GOOD THINGS WITH YOUR TEACHER

Galatians 6:6
Let the one who is taught the word of God share all good things with the one who teaches. (ESV)

The Bible is replete with scriptures which both instruct and admonish christians to consistently and cheerfully give both to God and to the work of the Gospel.

We find within the pages of the Holy Bible different kinds of offerings that every Child of God needs to be familiar with, because these opportunities you have to give have actually been designed for your good.

In our opening scripture today, we find a clear biblical instruction to share "all good things" with the men or women who labourers to teach you God's word.

In plain simple english, it says "SUPPORT YOUR PASTOR WITH CASH AND MATERIAL THINGS"

The phrase, "good things" is purposely ambiguous.

It includes much more than money. It refers to all the good things of life - clothes, food, and several other material things.

Material things were sent to support the Apostle Paul in his mission. Paul inturn pronounced the special blessing of Philippians 4:19 on them.

Phillipians 4:19 is commonly quoted by people who claim God will care for them. But the proclamation of this particular verse was the harvest of the sharing of all good things with their teacher, Paul.

This shows us that your special sharing, giving and sowing to the man or woman who teaches you God's word will entitle you to a special harvest of abundant all-round supernatural provision.

"You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church SHARED WITH ME in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone.
For even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.
Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account...and my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus".
Philippians 4:15-19 (NASB)

If you share "all good things" with those sent to teach you and guide you in righteousness, you can be sure everything about you will be top on God's priority list because you are giving towards the advancement of the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ.

Whenever you share cash or material things with your man or woman of God, you're sowing precious seeds which causes the gospel to move forward and at the same time is multiplied back to you. You become indispensable to God, for the Bible says He can't do without a cheerful giver.

To the ends of the earth.
God bless you richly with great grace and many blessings.

ETERNAL LIFE

1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you who believe in the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life...

As a new creation in Christ, you have within your spirit eternal life - the God-kind of life.

Unfortunately, this is one of the greatest blessings of salvation that too many of God's children aren't conscious of.

Our opening verse, clearly reveals that eternal life is the present actual possession of a born again child of God.

"Eternal life" translated in the New Testament from the Greek word "Zoe" (pronounced "zo-ay") refers to life in the absolute sense, life as God has it, the kind of life which the Father has in Himself, which the Son manifested in the world.

The New Testament speaks of eternal life (Greek "Zoe") - sometimes called "life" or "everlasting life" as the present possession of the believer 89 times and as a future hope 26 times.

The fact that eternal life is presented as "the present possession" of the believer, clearly indicates that God wants us to be fully conscious and aware of this glorious and wonderful blessing that we possess by virtue of our faith in Christ Jesus.

The primary objective of the plan of redemption, the reason Jesus Christ came and died on the cross, was to impart this life to man's human spirit.

The Bible says, Jesus Christ through his death on the cross brought "life" and "immortality" to light through the gospel.

St. Paul said,

"But it is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel"
(2 Timothy 2:10)

Here is where Christianity differs from every other religion - life and immortality.

A Christian is one who has received eternal life and immortality. One who has passed from death, the realm of Satan and sin, into life, the realm of God and righteousness.

The new birth gives Eternal life to the spirit of man, and the promise of immortality for our physical bodies at the return of our LORD Jesus Christ.

Titus 1:2-3 tells us something beautiful; it says,

"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; but hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour."

God promised eternal life before the world began, and now, He has fulfilled His promise and made eternal life available through the preaching of the Gospel. Be eternal life conscious. Praise God!!

To the ends of the earth
God bless you with great grace and many blessings.
