The Anglican Church in Zambia has a new Bishop to serve the Diocese of Luapula. The Rt Revd Japhet Ponda was consecrated Bishop at a colourful ceremony held at the Holy Cross Cathedral in Lusaka on Sunday 18th May, presided over by the Most Revd Dr Albert Chama.
The ceremony was attended by 11 Anglican Bishops from the Church of the Province of Central Africa, along with many Anglican faithfuls from Zambia and the wider Province, and many ecumenical partners.
The Rt Revd Japhet Ponda will begin his ministry after being enthroned as Diocesan Bishop on 1st June at St Michael’s and All Angels Cathedral, Chipili Mission.
Please pray for Bishop and Mrs Ponda as they transition to this new chapter of ministry.
