“I HAVE NOT STOPPED POLITICS” — NKONKOMALIMBA
Seasoned political analyst Nkonkomalimba Kapumpe has broken his silence following speculation that he may have stepped away from politics after the recently concluded elections.
But according to Nkonkomalimba, nothing could be further from the truth.
In a Facebook post, he said that after months of political anticipation, campaigning and heightened rhetoric, the country now needs a period of calm and reflection.
He believes the immediate post-election period should be about lowering political temperatures, avoiding unnecessary confrontations and allowing the country to breathe.
For Nkonkomalimba, this is also a time to rest, spend time with family, pray, reflect, plan and re-energise ahead of the next five-year political cycle.
He describes politics as “a marathon, not a sprint,” cautioning against the pressure to remain constantly visible simply to appear politically relevant or influential.
And for those who may have mistaken his quieter post-election approach for a political exit, he had a rather cheeky response:
“To be clear, I have not stopped politics lol.”
So, while the political noise may have gone down, Nkonkomalimba says he has not gone anywhere.
