Communicators, Leaders Gather for Historic PARL & Communications Big Sabbath in Lusaka
Yesterday, the Army Chapel in Lusaka played host to a significant gathering of church communicators and leaders from across Zambia during a joint Public Affairs & Religious Liberty (PARL) and Communications Big Sabbath.
The event, organized by the Southern Zambia Union Conference and Northern Zambia Union Conference, was held under the theme “Integrated for Mission.” It brought together over one hundred passionate communicators from Adventist churches nationwide, united by a shared commitment to advancing the church’s mission through effective communication and advocacy.
The program was graced by distinguished church and civic leaders, including Dr Tommy S. Namitondo, Vice President of the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID), and Dr Pako Edson Mkwagane, Director of Communication and Public Affairs & Religious Liberty for the SID. Also in attendance was Eng. Joe Kalusa, representing the Lusaka Provincial Administration.
Hosting the event was Vanny Munyumbwe, President of the Southern Zambia Union Conference, alongside Dr Daniel Chunga, the hosting Conference President. The Northern Zambia Union Conference was represented by its Executive Secretary, Pr Chifumbe Kapenya.
The Big Sabbath emphasized the importance of integrating communication and religious liberty efforts in strengthening the church’s mission, equipping attendees with insights and inspiration to effectively serve in their respective fields.
